It’s not due to a lack of fibre.
It’s coming from inflammation.
Carbohydrates (become sugar in seconds upon being eaten).
Yes, all that high-fibre cereal, wholemeal breads, rice, pasta, juice, fruit, potato and sweet potato.
This sugar erodes and niggles the bowel lining over time.
Elevated blood sugar is also responsible for diverticulitis and constipation due to this erosion and constriction of the bowel.
It’s called the diabetic gut.
Millions have pre-diabetes, years before they are even aware of the condition.
The number one macronutrient that evokes a blood sugar and insulin response is carbohydrates.
Oh, you only have whole meal cereal/bread?
Whole meal cereal can be worse as the flour is ground so fine (like icing sugar), it causes a higher spike in blood sugar and insulin!
We sleepwalk into disease eating foods we are think are reducing the risk, but are increasing it!
Small amounts of fibre are important.
But don’t spike your blood sugar and worsen your diabetes risk in the process.
So small amounts of green-leafy vegetables, herbs like parsley, broccoli, cabbage, berries, seaweed, small amounts of nuts/seeds and psyllium.
Protect your bowel (and arteries/heart/brain!) from being eroded, by reducing carbohydrates in your diet.
