We are a paediatric speech pathology practice in Indooroopilly. For the past 12 years we’ve been supporting kids and families across the western suburbs, and we’re proud to have grown into a stable, close-knit clinic with a supportive team who love what we do. We’re looking for a part-time admin superstar to join our admin team and help keep our clinic running smoothly.
Let's list all the good stuff about why you should come to work with us:
1) The work is fun, fresh and dynamic. You will be supporting our team of 9 speechies with a mix of projects and day-to-day admin.
2) You’ll be part of our existing admin team so there’s solid coverage across the week and plenty of shared know-how.
3) We aren’t big on stress. So, while we will expect you to work efficiently and get things done, we focus on open communication and doing things right the first time.
4) The position is part-time (2 - 3 days per week) in our clinic. As our practice continues to expand, there may be scope to grow this role into more hours over time.
5) You don’t need to be skilled at roller skating or bowling or escaping a room or painting, but you’ll probably end up doing them anyway. Every few months we do something fun or goofy or both as a team.
Now, let’s talk about the job requirements:
1) As the front-facing person in our clinic, being a people person is important as you will be looking after our clients by welcoming parents and their children to our clinic, booking their appointments, processing their payments and communicating things to our team.
2) You need to be the type of person who gets joy out of getting things done. Lists are your jam and ticking them off is deeply satisfying.
3) You will be on the computer a lot. So, an understanding of email, navigating the web and other computer-based stuff will be necessary. If you have experience with Zanda, Google Drive and Slack, you will thrive in this job. But if you don't have experience with these platforms, don't worry, we will teach you everything you need to know. Computer literacy is a must though.
4) You’re comfortable on the phone and can communicate clearly and kindly.
5) You’re detail-oriented. No half-baked work. We like our work fully baked and done properly, just like the cakes, cookies and brownies that occasionally appear when someone on the team feels inspired to bake or we do shared lunches.
6) If you are shy or quiet, that is totally cool. We are not looking for the life of the party. However, you will be working with a team of speechies and we love to chat, so be prepared to enjoy great lunch breaks with us all and just a genuine love for being part of our closely-knit team.
7) If you have an understanding of the allied health field and NDIS as well, that's a bonus, but not essential. We'll teach you everything you need to know on the job.
In addition to being a detailed person, you must follow systems and processes. In fact, just to prove that you are detail-oriented and can follow procedures, when you apply for this position you must include “I have found my type of peeps” in the subject line of your email. Yep, that’s our little trick to sort out the people who blanket send their resume to anyone and everyone, from the folks (that’s you) who are truly interested in this position.
We are looking to bring our new colleague on board as soon as possible, but we will spend the necessary time to find the best fit both in terms of abilities and culturally. One thing that will give you a BIG leg up (but is optional) is to send a quick video in along with your resume and cover letter (in fact, everyone who works here did this). In your video tell us why you think you’re perfect for this job and why you will rock this position. This is purely for us to get a sense of your personality. And if you decide not to send a video (which is ok too), please tell us why you chose not to send a video.
We can’t wait to meet you!!!
Please email your resume, cover letter and optional video to our Director Monique Speakman at iwanttowork@kidschatter.com.au
