LOCKDOWN UPDATE:

Qld has entered a 3 day lockdown as of 6pm this evening.

As an essential service, we will still be operating during this time.

If you have an appointment during the lockdown period you can still attend your appointment in person if you need to, however you will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the session.

As an alternative option, you are able to have your therapy session via Telehealth (phone or video). If you’d like to arrange this, please advise us as soon as possible.

If you’d prefer to reschedule your appointment for a time post lock-down, please contact the clinic.

South East Queensland, Townsville, Palm Island and Magnetic Island will enter a 3 day lockdown from 6pm Tuesday 29 June, to stop the spread of COVID-19.

This includes the following areas: 📍 Brisbane 📍 Gold Coast 📍 Ipswich 📍 Logan 📍 Redlands 📍 Moreton Bay 📍 Scenic Rim 📍 Lockyer Valley 📍 Somerset 📍 Noosa 📍 Sunshine Coast 📍 Townsville 📍 Palm Island 📍 Magnetic Island

You can only leave your home or accommodation for one of these four reasons:

▪️ to buy essentials such as groceries or medications
▪️ attend essential work and study if you can't do from home
▪️ exercise in your local area
▪️ healthcare or to provide help, care or support to vulnerable persons (includes getting vaccinated).

Lockdown restrictions include:

😷 Face masks must be worn when you're outside your home (excluding when in your private vehicle, when doing strenuous exercise or if you have a medical condition)
🏡 Limit of two visitors to your home (not including residents, volunteers and workers)
☕ Restaurants and cafes to provide takeaway or delivery service only
🎥 All non-essential businesses to close; cinemas, entertainment and recreation venues, hairdressers, gyms etc
⛪ Places of worship to close
🍼 Childcare to remain open
💒 20 people can attend funerals, 10 people can attend weddings.

Some good news....

The APS is pleased to announce that the 2020 Federal Budget includes a doubling of the number of Medicare-funded psychology sessions for all Australians regardless of location, for an initial 2 year period.

This follows years of APS advocacy for recognition of the importance of access to psychological services. More to come.

In light of the 3 new cases of COVID-19 announced today on the southside of Brisbane, could you please contact us to reschedule your appointment if you have been to any of the locations listed in Qld Health’s post attached below.

Please also contact us to reschedule your appointment to a later date if you have recently travelled interstate.

These precautions are being taken to prevent further community transmission of COVID-19 and to ultimately ensure everyone’s health and safety.

⚠️ Public Health Alert ⚠️

Community members on Brisbane’s southside are asked to remain alert but not alarmed as Queensland records three new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The first case is a 19-year-old woman who tested positive after travelling interstate last week. She is an employee at Parklands Christian College on Brisbane’s southside. Queensland Health is working closely with the school which has temporarily closed until further notice.

The second case is a 19-year-old female travel companion. Both cases travelled interstate together last week. It is believed they contracted the virus in Melbourne, Victoria.

The third reported case is a known close contact, a 22-year-old woman, who tested positive later today. This individual is an employee of YMCA Chatswood Hills Outside School Hours Care. Queensland Health is working closely with the school and the care centre, both of which have temporarily closed until further notice.

Any individuals who were present at the below locations at the relevant times are asked to immediately self-quarantine and contact 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84).
