As we come to the end of Speech Pathology Week 2025, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible work of our speech pathologists and the amazing children and families we have the privilege to support every day. πŸ’™

This year’s theme shines a light on how communication changes lives. From building connection and confidence, to fostering inclusion, empowerment, opportunity, wellbeing, and independence – speech pathologists play a vital role in helping people thrive at every stage of life 🌟

At Everton Therapy, we see this magic in action every day – whether it’s a child finding their voice, exploring new ways to communicate, or building confidence to connect with the world around them.

To the families who trust us on their journey, and to our team of passionate speech pathologists – thank you for showing us every day how powerful communication can be.

Together, let’s continue to celebrate and advocate for communication for all πŸ’œ

Happy International Day of Families!
Families provide love, support, and strength, helping us thrive in all that we do. Whether it’s the family we’re born into or the one we create, every bond matters. Let’s take a moment to appreciate and cherish these connections that shape who we are.

Today is Global Developmental Delay Awareness Day!

GDD means children may take longer to reach milestones β€” but with the right support, they grow, learn, and thrive in their own time.

Let’s celebrate their strengths and raise awareness! πŸ’›

At just one day old, Lucas began having seizures and following various tests, was diagnosed with KCNQ2 encephalopathy.

KCNQ2 encephalopathy is a rare and severe form of epilepsy that affects the brain and causes developmental delays.

With the support and care of his family and the Queensland Children's Hospital team, Lucas is now six years old and is a happy, smiley boy who loves interacting with people. 😁

This Purple Day for Epilepsy we're highlighting stories about children with epilepsy, like Lucas, to raise awareness and let families know they're not alone in their journey. πŸ’œ
