t’s a wonderful technique to arrive in your body and shift into presence, before we begin our moving practice.

Astavakrasana (eight twist pose) ✨🔱

Yoga postures are deeply rooted in Indian culture and Hindu mythology, and they offer us some ways to look closer at these sacred shapes.
Many of the yoga poses are named after Hindu deities (gods),or are inspired by nature.
But this one posture is inspired by the sage Astavakra. When the sage was in his mother’s womb, his father Kagola made several mistakes while reciting the ancient vedas. Hearing these, the unborn sage laughed. His father became enraged and cursed his unborn son to be born crooked. So it came to pass that he was born twisted in eight places, and was thus named Astavakra.

The Ashtanga yoga practice allows us this opportunity. By maintaining this discipline with regularity and devotion, we can acquire steadiness of body and mind.

Asana~ Prior to everything, asana is spoken as the first part of hatha yoga. Having done asana one gets steadiness (firmness) of body and mind; diseaselessness and lightness (flexibility) of the limbs.

•Wednesday 6am -7am ☀️

•Thursday 6pm - 7pm 🌙

•Friday 6am - 7am ☀️

Classes will be a mix of invigorating Vinyasa (Ashtanga inspired) and classical Hatha yoga. These classes are designed to build flexibility, balance & strength, with an emphasis on developing a deeper connection to your breath.

Aaron has 20 years practice experience & 15 years teaching, you’ll receive personalised attention and on going support on your yoga journey.
