Thumbs up!! Term 2 Hippotherapy Physio sessions with Ali kicked off today!! Happy horses and smiles all round for the riders. It is truly special to see the joy and freedom that being aboard a horse brings to clients, and to watch the special bonds between horse and rider develop. Physio sessions aboard horses help build strength, coordination and balance, and are lots of fun!!

Does Hippotherapy have anything to do with hippopotamuses??!! No!! The word "hippo" is the Greek word for horse! This type of equine based therapy was first described in the works of the ancient Greek physician Hippocrates. More recently since the 1960's Hippotherapy has been recognised as a adjunct to traditional physiotherapy firstly in Europe and then USA/Canada from the 1980's.
