1 in 5 Australians experience a mental disorder each year (AIHW, 2024).

Across our BlueCare services, we work hard to keep our clients and residents feeling connected to family, friends and their local communities.

Isolation and loneliness can have a serious impact on those in aged care and that is why this year’s Mental Health Week theme, connect for mental health, means so much to us.

It is a reminder to look after yourself, check in with loved ones, and strengthen the connections that support our wellbeing.

Remember, you’re not alone. Lifeline is here 24/7 on 13 11 14 if you need someone to talk to. 💙

Help improve a life today by asking the question: “Are you OK?”

Are your ageing loved ones eating well to age well?

For many older Australians living at home, malnutrition is a silent risk.

BlueCare’s Nourish program takes a fresh approach, combining personalised, dietitian-led plans with in-home support to help people eat well, feel better, and thrive while ageing at home.

“One in two people living at home may have an inadequate diet,” says Jane Anderson of UnitingCare. “Malnutrition increases the risk of falls, infection, and poor wound healing — all of which can lead to longer hospital stays and loss of independence.”

Nourish was developed as an antidote to malnutrition, shaking things up to not only make meals more nutritious but bring joy back to eating.
