With full consent from our participant, we want to share a journey that reminds us of why we do what we do. 💚
When we first met Jay, he was experiencing homelessness and facing complex support needs. His situation required immediate & consistent care.
Through strong advocacy and collaboration with homelessness services, including , we were able to secure accommodation for Jay and begin stabilising his situation.
From there, our team worked alongside Jay to:
• Re-engage with medical supports
• Improve daily living skills and personal care
• Build confidence and independence
• Reconnect with the community
Today, Jay’s progress has been incredible.
He is now actively engaging in the community, attending activities such as rugby league games, building routines, and continuing to develop the skills needed to live a more independent and meaningful life. 🌱
Jay often shares that he feels he’s been “given a second chance at life.” 🥹
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated support workers, the team at Micah Projects, health professionals, and all other services involved who have contributed to this journey.
This is what person-centred, consistent, and compassionate support can achieve.
We are incredibly proud of Jay! But more importantly, he should be proud of himself. 👏🏽
This is his journey. We are grateful to be part of it. 🙏🏽
