The Australian Government has announced the Thriving Kids program—a $2 billion initiative aimed at providing early intervention and foundational supports outside the NDIS. The shift begins July 2026 and will be complete by July 2027.

Minister Mark Butler stated the change is needed to make the NDIS sustainable, while ensuring children still receive the support they need.
