Sitting on the therapist chair is such a privilege. I get to access some of the most intimate parts of someone’s story and someone’s identity, and I never take that lightly. The first photo shows the view I currently have in my room at . This is the couch my beautiful clients get to sit on and share their stories with me. The second photo is a shot of my view from the therapist chair from 10 years, when I was practising in Chile as a Child Psychologist in private practice. My practice has evolved and grown with the years, and even though the setting, country, language and population I work with has changed, the passion and love I have for this work I do remains the same. Reconnecting with family therapy has been the best part of the last 12 months in my career. This week I had the privilege to spend two full days refreshing some of this knowledge with the incredibly experienced family therapists and trainers and
Systems thinking and putting the human experience in context is core to my therapeutic approach with clients; no one exists in a vacuum and we all carry in our shoulders the stories and family patterns from our ancestors, and the time and place in which have lived and grown. Excellent training, will go back for more.

FAQ series: What to expect on the day of your first appointment? 🧐

At we do not have reception staff, which means when you arrive you can simply come in, and grab a seat in our lovely waiting area.
There will be plenty of seating available, soft lighting and music playing in the background. You may grab a glass of water if you wish, or make yourself a cup of , we have a good selection of their most delicious teas.

I will come get you at the time of your appointment, and we will go through payment and scheduling future appointments at the end of our session.

Healing from trauma can be a long journey but it is possible. At Ayun Therapy I work with clients in way that ensures safety is at the core of everything I do, which is done by building trust through every interaction. Our bodies and brains are not able to regulate or feel calm if we feel threatened or at risk, which is why building a solid therapeutic relationship is key to begin trauma work.
