Okay here it is, The Cass Review Pt II, the second of my appearances on Meanjin-Brisbane’s 4ZZZ Fm discussing the NHS Cass Review into gender-affirming care for children. I would say it’s a review into care for trans kids in the UK, but actually it has far broader implications, as I’m sure its co-authors anti-trans hate-group SEGM realised when they petitioned for inclusion in the top-secret so-called “clinical expert group”. Here co-hosts Ez, June, and I discuss developments in the UK, the US, and Australia, which has so far weathered the storm of pseudoscience remarkably well but where SEGM (lead by northern rivers NSW native Dr Roberto D’Angelo) has recently made inroads. Set against a backdrop of a dramatic spike in trans youth su***des among UK kids and the outlawing of puberty blockers under a so-called emergency provision by the UK government, this discussion is far from over, and I’ll be revisiting it periodically on 4ZZZ and this coming Saturday at the Meanjin People’s Pride event at Jagera Hall; look for the panel at 4pm.

Trigger warnings as usual for trans folks: su***de, gender-change efforts (aka conversion therapy), and transphobic physicians. I guess it’s kind of a true-crime podcast.

Hi friends. This is what I do. I'm a disability support worker and mentor for young trans and gender-diverse folks in Brisbane. I've also done staff training in trans awareness and appeared on 4ZZZ radio in my unpaid role as an advocate for trans kids, my true passion.
