Saturday — Rest vs Avoidance (Integration matters)

This one might surprise you … but this reminded me: sometimes the pause isn’t avoidance — it’s integration.
If you’ve been processing, healing, learning, or holding a lot… your system may be recalibrating.
The question I ask when in my integration time and fitting for this is:
Am I resting to restore… or avoiding because it feels unsafe?

Both deserve compassion — but they need different medicine.

Friday — The “Safety Plan” (Support + environment)

Another piece I’ve learned: I don’t just need motivation — I need conditions.
Survival mode eases when there’s support, structure, and simplicity.

A few “safety conditions” that help:
• a clear next step (not 10 options)
• doing it with someone nearby (body doubling)
• reducing distractions for 10 minutes
• a short timer + a small reward
• permission to stop before burnout

This isn’t weakness. It’s wise design.

Thursday — Make It Smaller (Tiny steps rewire the system)

I learned the hard way: big goals don’t move a survival brain. Tiny safe steps do.
When something feels too big, my new practice is to shrink the start until my body doesn’t tense up.
Because the nervous system doesn’t change through pressure — it changes through safe evidence.

Examples of “safe steps”:
• 2 minutes, not 2 hours
• one message, not a whole plan
• one post, not a perfect strategy
• begin messy, refine later

Here’s the question that changed things for me:
“What feels unsafe about moving forward?”
Not unsafe in reality — unsafe to my system.
For some people it’s fear of judgment. For others it’s fear of failure… or fear of success and responsibility… or fear of being seen.
When you find the real fear, the block stops being mysterious. It becomes workable.

Tuesday — Survival Mode Isn’t Laziness

One of the biggest shifts I was reminded of is that being ir feeling stuck doesn’t mean you’re lazy.
It can mean your nervous system is protecting you from something it associates with danger — even if your mind is saying “This is good for me.”
Survival mode doesn’t speak in logic. It speaks in sensations: overwhelm, avoidance, fog, distraction, procrastination. It can be so energy draining when in this cycle.
When I stopped shaming and pressuring myself, I could finally listen to what was underneath.

Survival versus Soul Led Living

Monday — Naming the Pattern (No shame)

The last few weeks I haven’t posted much — not because I didn’t care, or didn’t want to but because I’ve had to slow down and remind myself to regulate. I got myself in a space of being at a crossroads. There’s been so many changes this past year which is cool but I kinda of lost track of myself lately in where I was going. I noticed my nervous system was a bit out of whack and I went into a place of survival mode. So, I’ve been looking honestly at what happens when we’re trying to grow… and something inside us hits the brakes.

I used to call it “a block.” And yes, at times it absolutely is but lately I’ve seen it more clearly thats it’s often survival mode that we can slip into — a protective part of us that learned, at some point, that change isn’t safe.

So this week I’m sharing what I’ve learned in a step-by-step way. Not as theory… as lived experience.
