Good news! As of July 1, the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program lowered the eligibility age to 45! So, you can now start screening for bowel cancer five years earlier than before. Don't put it off... it's a crappy job but could help you detect bowel cancer early!

If you're aged 45 to 49, visit the National Cancer Screening Register website (https://www.ncsr.gov.au/boweltest) to order your FREE bowel screening kit! If you’re aged 50-74 you should already receive your kit in the mail every two years. If you haven’t, then you can also visit the website to request one.

If you are outside of the eligibility range, you can still discuss your concerns with your GP. You might still be recommended for screening. Simply book a standard consult to discuss your concerns and family history.

Each year hundreds of people are hosipalised because the early warning signs are missed or ignored. If you tick the 4 T's, speak to a healthcare professional, and get your blood sugar level checked.

Great News! We are thrilled to welcome new Female GP, Dr Dilruni to The Gap from Monday the 22nd of April.

Dr Dilruni comes to us with decades of experience and a diverse range of interests. Since she started working as a Doctor in Sydney in 2004, she has served as an RACGP medical examiner, and helped ensure that the up-and-coming generation of doctors met the rigorous high standards expected of them. Now she enjoys providing the best possible medical and preventative care to her patients. Her interests include the various aspects of women’s health and children’s health, as well as chronic disease management.
