As the Specialist Disability Accommodation market evolves rapidly with forecasted participant growth reaching 30,000 by year-end, this national forum plays an important role in shaping ethical, innovative, and person-centered housing solutions. The program’s focus on aligning policy, investment, and practice to meet genuine participant needs highlights the sector’s commitment to delivering dignity, choice, and sustainable impact.

Our leadership’s active participation reinforces our dedication to driving forward-thinking SDA models, fostering collaboration, and addressing the complex housing challenges faced by people with disability.

Productive day at the Ready Set Connect networking event connecting with housing providers from across the disability housing sector.

Gained valuable insights into how different providers are navigating the current NDIS landscape and innovative approaches being used to better support participants. The conversations highlighted both shared challenges and practical solutions, with a clear focus on improving participant outcomes and care quality.

What stood out was the collaborative spirit – everyone genuinely committed to working together rather than in isolation. There's real opportunity to learn from each other's approaches and combine our strengths to deliver the best possible support for our participants.

Looking forward to implementing some of these learnings and exploring partnerships with several providers we connected with today.

Farewell and Thank You, Brendon Woolf

This week, we say goodbye to one of our very first team members, Brendon, who has made the heartfelt decision to step away from his role with Brighter Living Australia.

Brendon has been a valued part of our journey from the very beginning, contributing with genuine care, compassion, and commitment. His presence has left a lasting impression not only on our team but on the many lives he’s supported during his time with us.

While we’re sad to see him go, we are incredibly grateful for the role he’s played in helping shape who we are today. Brendon, thank you for your heart, your hard work, and the warmth you brought to BLA. We wish you nothing but happiness and success in the next chapter and you’ll always be part of the Brighter Living story.

Brighter Living Australia Appoints Jess Northcott as Chief Executive Officer

Brighter Living Australia is delighted to announce the appointment of Jess Northcott as Chief Executive Officer, effective Wednesday, 18th June 2025.

Jess brings a wealth of experience in strategic operations, governance, and people leadership. Having played a pivotal role in guiding Brighter Living through recent organisational transitions, Jess is well-placed to lead the next phase of our journey. As CEO, her focus will be on strengthening internal systems, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our mission—to provide quality homes where ability shines.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Brad Fuller, who now transitions to the role of Founding Director. Brad’s vision and dedication have been instrumental in shaping Brighter Living from its earliest days. In his new capacity, Brad will continue to support the organisation as a strategic advisor and champion for innovation.

We invite our community, partners, and stakeholders to join us in congratulating Jess Northcott on her appointment and in expressing our gratitude to Brad Fuller for his ongoing commitment to Brighter Living Australia.
