From the outside, I may look like someone who has always found it easy to exercise..

But that couldn’t be further from the truth 🫣

Throughout all the years I spent fixated on dieting and with the sole purpose to make my body smaller, I HATED exercising.

Walks I could manage, but I would come up with EVERY excuse not to do my gym sessions.

Flash forward to now, despite being ridiculously unwell for the last year 😅 I still managed to train 3-4 times every single week.

I wasn’t necessarily getting stronger, I struggled through every bloody session, and definitely felt helpless more than a few times.

But I became too stubborn (who would have thought 😅) to let my consistency disappear and damage my health further.

Training became the thing I do FOR my body to not be in pain, help clear my head and support my body to FEEL GOOD.

I believe every person goes through their own version of struggles, but there’s not a day I’m not thankful that I broke out of an obsession around weight and can now enjoy life simply doing the things that make me feel like my best self.

If you’re keen to stop checking the scale daily and actually focus on building consistent habits that make you feel good 👉 send me a message and let’s chat 😊

How we talk about food plays a huge role into our mindset 🧠

And it’s no wonder we develop guilt and shame around eating when we still describe every day foods as ‘bad’ or ‘unhealthy’.

The other problem is that what is considered a “healthy” food for you, could massively differ from the person next to you.

While loading up toast with butter may not be the best thing for someone with high cholesterol, it could be super beneficial for the person who’s struggling to maintain their weight and eat anything.

I much prefer to use the terms ‘nutrient dense foods’ and ‘less nutrient dense foods’.

(And yes, it’s totally normal to have a mix of both of these across the day!).

Each food serves a purpose, whether it’s for fueling, taste, nutrients, or even comfort.

Switching out of the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ food mentality can free up so much of the food noise that goes on in our heads and allow you to reduce emotions around food decisions and simply eat, move on and feel good.

If you are looking to reach your health goals in 2025 without the stress of food, hit me up and let’s get it sorted 🙌

Xmas week is over, and I have zero regrets 🫶

I ate desserts every day.

I missed a gym session.

I spent a lot of time laying around 😴.

And I ate way less protein than I usually would.

But you know what, that’s okay!

I haven’t been in my usually schedule and my focus was on purely enjoying time with family and friends, which meant a bit of different food.

I also know that this is one week out of 52 (although I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not perfect every other week either 😅).

My body won’t change significantly from one different week, any weight I would have gained (because we don’t check after Xmas as it’s not going to be accurate anyway) will go back to normal and I will be able to cherish the memories of a lovely week without worrying about food.

This is how Xmas week should be, focused on enjoyment, NOT on calories or steps.

If you are looking to stress less about food and still reach your health goals in 2025 🎉 ➡️ shoot me a message and let’s see what that could look like for you 💫

If your meals always needed to look ‘perfect’, I would be horrendously failing at the moment 😅

So it’s a good thing that sometimes they just need to be ‘Good Enough’ 🎉

I know that I’m not the only one who has days where there’s physically and mentally nothing left to think about and prepare food. (And no this isn’t just being lazy).

But it also doesn’t mean that your dinner needs to be half a bag of chips because you can’t cook your 25 ingredient curry.

Enter ‘Good Enough’ meals ➡️ options that hit tick off your basic meal components, are packed with micronutrients, contain a decent amount of protein and above all are super simple and easy to get on the plate 🙌🎉

I know you’ve probably heard that toasted sandwiches aren’t a ‘healthy meal’, but that’s probably just because whoever said that was stupid 😅

This toastie is packed full of 40g of protein 🤯, packed with nutrients and yet will only take minutes to put together without any cooking (okay just a little toasting).

That sounds pretty darn good in my books 🤷🏻‍♀️

And sounds much more achievable to make if I’m feeling ridiculously fatigued (while actually helping my body to recover a lot more than a bag of chips would 😂).

If you like the sound of simple low to no prep meals that still tick off your nutrient needs then I have more good news🎉

I’m about to release an ebook containing 30 recipes of quick fuelling meals🙌 For more details and to jump on the waiting list and be the first to hear when it drops, comment ‘GOOD ENOUGH’ below 👇👇

Microwave meals are still one of my favourite things to this day.

Yes, they are processed 🙄 but this does not mean that they are bad.

Whenever I am looking at convenience meal options, I am always considering ➡️ is this better than the alternative?

Of course, you could call the home made, prepped and portioned meal the gold standard.

But if that is not accessible, what’s the next best alternative?

These meals provide a simple and quick way to get closer to your normal meals than perhaps the takeaway down the road.

And yes, there is a wide variety of ready made meals that it can be overwhelming, which is why I’ve included the checklist 📋 I look at along with some brand recommendations 🙌

There’s nothing wrong about needing a little help with your meals sometimes (regardless of the reason).

I personally love the ease of dropping by my local supermarket and knowing I can have a meal that contains everything my body needs to feel good (especially after I add some extra veg😉).

Step up for snacking 101 👩🏻‍🏫

When it comes to choosing the perfect snack, it’s important to first understand WHY you are wanting to eat.

This way you can start to tailor your snack to ensure it actually satisfies your needs.

Feeling hungry because you ate breakfast 4 hours ago and have been on the run since?

Grazing on the chocolate block while finishing off emails probably isn’t going to be the best idea 🙅🏻‍♀️

If your body is feeling physical hunger, we need to ensure we are providing it with nutrients that will target the hunger. Higher protein or fibre foods are perfect for this✅

If you are hungry AND craving something sweet, then maybe consider adding some chocolate to your filling snack, or choose a high protein muesli bar or pudding instead to tick two boxes at once ✅✅

There’s nothing off limits when it comes to snacks, but choosing the right snacks to target your needs can help for you to continue achieving your goals and feel your best across the day 🙌

Do you feel like you are either ‘on-point’ or ‘off-track’ with your nutrition? 🤔

One of the most common things I still hear is, “my nutrition is great when I’m feeling good”.

But the truth is, we are never only going to feel good.

So if your plan relies on you always having the time, energy and mental capacity to do your full shop, meal prep and have everything perfect…. then you are going to run into trouble 🫠

But not feeling up to your normal amount of food prep doesn’t have to mean a ‘write-off’ week of food full of takeaway and half hazard meals.

Let me introduce you to the concept of back-up/ emergency meals ➡️ a collection of options that require little to no prep, but still tick most of your meal goals in terms of carbohydrates, protein, veggies and portion control ✅

If you want to truely succeed with your health goals, it’s time to ditch the ‘all or nothing’ mindset, and start allowing yourself to use a simpler and easier option when you do have those tough weeks (and trust me, I know they are tough!).

If you know this is your weak spot, and you need more help in creating a plan that you can follow through both the good and the rough times ➡️ DM me ‘coaching’ and let’s chat 😊

Sure, you can go on a strict diet to lose weight 🤷🏻‍♀️

You can cut out heaps of food, eat next to nothing, be the strictest you can, feel tired, hungry, miserable and then fall off your plan every second week because it’s darn right bloody miserable to follow.

Ending up either never actually achieving your goal or becoming so obsessed with being perfect with your food that it’s all you can think about and feel guilty every time you eat something you think you shouldn’t.

Or… 👇

You can stop seeing weight loss as a race or a temporary diet and start adding in habits that actually make your body FEEL GOOD🙌

Rebuild your relationship with food so that you aren’t working against insane cravings or binges, and learn to enjoy eating all foods without losing control 😮

Actually have energy and start seeing muscle growth because you are fuelling your body to exercise well and not spending the whole day ignoring your stomach grumbles.

Finally feel good in your body again without needing to constantly count calories or worrying about how your next meal is going to affect the scale 🎉

I’ve done it both ways and I can definitely say, the second option is a much, MUCH happier place 👏

Things will never be perfect every single day.

And yet most of us only set up a nutrition plan for how we want our optimal day to look.

For me, planning with nutrition means also looking at my WORST days when I’m not feeling great, tired, lacking time and just don’t want a bar of thinking about food 😂

And this is exactly where emergency meals come in 🚨

These are your simple, easy ways to still remain close enough to your plan, even when things aren’t going your way.

And avoiding falling into that tricky ‘all or nothing mindset’ where you end up eating half of maccas because you were too tired to cook.

Emergency meals aren’t just about finding an option that exactly replicates your normal meal, but rather being the thing that ties you along until you can get back to the normal plan without that constant two steps forward, five steps back situation.

If you need help with building backup options for your nutrition plan to help you to stay consistent and reach your goals, shoot me a DM 💌🙌

In summary, it wasn’t a very positive experience 😅

The years I spent solely focussed on weight loss as my goal were honestly the worst in my life.

Despite believing that I was trying to be healthier, all of these habits actually only made me feel worse about myself either physically or mentally.

That isn’t health 🙅🏻‍♀️

The biggest difference between now and then? ➡️ my mindset.

I stopped seeing exercise as a punishment or this terrible thing and started using it to strengthen my body, relieve stress and challenge myself 💪

I stopped seeing certain foods as ‘bad’ and embraced eating a balance of all foods without guilt 🍦

And I stopped the black or white obsession with goals and realised that small improvements still get me towards my goal (and a lot quicker than only being perfect 5% of the time 😅).

Do any of these ring true for you as well? 👇

“I don’t know what to eat to lose weight” 😱

If this is you, then I have some good news 👇

You don’t have to completely up-haul your day on a plate just because you have a weight loss goal.

You are likely eating certain foods or meals now because you enjoy them, so if you change this for foods you dislike just so that you can lose weight, it’s probably not going to work out long term 🤷🏻‍♀️

But what you can do, is find simple swaps of foods that are similar to what you currently enjoy, but are lower in calories.

This often allows you to still enjoy your favourite meals, and with a few swaps across the day can end up saving you 100s of calories 🙌

➡️ Now this isn’t to say that anyone HAS to swap these foods or the original ones are ‘bad’ (which they aren’t).

But if making a few simple swaps helps you to reach your goals while still enjoying food and not stressing about creating an entire new food plan, then go for it!

Make sure to save this post to come back to these ideas too.
