Mum and dad, Nidhi and Rohit, are originally from the Punjab region in India. Instead of thumbing through baby books to find a name, it’s part of their culture to consult the star charts on the date and time of their child’s birth to find the most suitable name.
Nidhi says her labour and birth couldn’t have gone smoother, and she’s so grateful to all the staff at Beaudesert Hospital, including her surgeon Dr Brendan. 👨⚕️
‘When I had my first son, Aarush, I laboured for 14 hours and then had to have an emergency caesarean section (C-section),’ she said.
‘But this time around, it was a planned C-section. I was a bit nervous heading to the hospital because it’s a major surgery, but as soon as I arrived, I felt so calm with all the lovely staff around me. I knew I was in safe hands.’
A C-section is an operation where you give birth to your baby through a cut in your abdomen and uterus. If complications develop during labour, or your labour isn’t progressing, you might need to have an emergency C-section. People who have previously had C-sections are often recommended to have planned C-sections for their future births.
Nidhi’s beautiful baby boy was born in the morning, on the 25th of August, and this information was quickly sent off to the rest of the family in India.
After consulting the stars, they came back with his name, Tanmay, which means ‘absorbed’, ‘engrossed’, or ‘fully immersed’, often associated with qualities of deep concentration, focus and inner peace.
He certainly looks peaceful in these photographs.
Congratulations, Nidhi and Rohit, and thank you for sharing your story with us. ❤️
