How we began
The Feet People began in late 2012, when Lawrence was looking for a way to provide podiatry to the elderly that was focussed on care and treating each individual as the brilliant human that they are. At the time Lawrence’s partner Alison was going through the process of her family moving her Gran into residential aged care. This experience only further highlighted the need for individual care in an industry that too often treats people like a number on a page, rather than an amazing person with a wealth of life experience. Lawrence felt that all people deserved the best care for them, with care being the focus word! So the ideas man, Lawrence (John Lennon) and the logical one, Alison (Paul McCartney) set out to create a new type of podiatry service.
Having been born in Toowoomba, Lawrence also had a keen interest in making sure people in regional areas had access to health care, making this region of Queensland a priority. After many months of setting up as Prime Foot Care Provider we began treating in March 2013, going out of our way to learn, reflect and to always try be the best service we possibly can.
We were so lucky as a team to meet Abi in 2014 and we realised we were not alone in our mission and that there are others out there that care about people first! As John Lennon quoted “"A DREAM YOU DREAM ALONE IS ONLY A DREAM. A DREAM YOU DREAM TOGETHER IS REALITY." We have continued over the following years to employ some of the most gorgeous, caring and kind people who are also the highest trained and utmost professionals in their fields from podiatry, to accounting to administration. Our team are our family and we are so happy every day we get to work with such a great team of people. Lawrence and Alison were married in 2016, further cementing the Prime Foot Care Provider team as a family of like minded people.
In 2017, Lawrence had a plan to innovate podiatry. This plan will unfold in the coming years but for now we have unveiled our new name ‘The Feet People’ and logo as designed by our friend, Tokyo based designer Tim Geale. Our name “The Feet People” is a fun way to play on words: we are the feet people, so you don’t have to be. We are playful, vibrant and energetic and we feel our use of purple is a brighter and more vibrant colour that we now get to wear proudly everyday!
