Welcoming Tanya, our new Practice Nurse to our growing team at Family Plus Medical Practice!

Tanya has over 17 years experience as a registered nurse. Following 10 years of medical and surgical ward nursing, Tanya spent 5 years providing specialised nursing care with Queensland Children's Hospital HITH (Hospital in the Home) program. Tanya then went on to work with the Child Development team in community clinics supporting diagnosis and management of complex developmental issues.

Most recently Tanya has worked as a School Nurse helping support students with chronic medical conditions. She has a passion for holistic family centred care and supporting people through their individual health journeys.

Outside of work Tanya enjoys time and adventures with her young children, cooking and finding new cafes for that perfect coffee.

Dr Yasemin’s main area of interest is mental health and navigating the disturbances of the mind with a holistic approach. Following years of training in psychiatry, Dr Yasemin is in the final stages of becoming a fully qualified psychiatrist.

Dr Yasemin has been practicing medicine in Australia, mainly in Brisbane and periods in North QLD, NSW, WA, Tasmania and Victoria and is able to offer assessment and treatment input in most general practice and mental health presentations, in a trauma-informed model of care. She values a holistic, person-centred approach cultivating autonomy, agency, freedom of choice, and respect for diversity.

Dr Yasemin enjoys philosophy, martial arts, dance, drama, cooking, travelling, and learning.
