🤍Just over a week until we begin our 6 Week Online Grief Ritual Container 🤍

Since holding our in-person Grief Rituals for the past two years, Cat and I are feeling the call to journey deeper and for a longer period of time with women in their grief… whic means you can join us now from whatever lands you’re on!

We begin September 1st and will gather each Monday evening at 7pm AST.

We have limited spaces in this container to maintain intimacy and depth.

Exchange is $250Au or $220 for returning grief tenders.

This includes 6x 1.5 calls and a support group thread to assist in integration and deepening.

Louis lives and works in the city and hadn’t had a break for ages. He shared that his intention was to “spend the weekend reading, journalling and just generally being present in nature”. I was reminded of these words today from one of my favourite poems,
From a poet that .bednarski and I often quote in our Grief Rituals…

Today, I felt the truth here yet again.
What a paradox (and privilege!) it is to experience the challenges and blessings that come with living a sentient life.
In these times, as I return again and again to nature,
I am reminded that she is my greatest healer,
Like a giant hug full of warmth and light, she is always there to hold me.
… and that’s how I felt here recently,
In the afternoon light a week before solstice,
Walking up the backyard to Mermaid Mountain,
Tired and recharged all at once,
I felt grateful for these lands that welcome me,
Over and over and over again.
A fierce and fiery embrace…
Of endless love and expansive possibility.

I love receiving photos from my Airbnb guests of how they connect to Feathertail. This one came to me with the title ‘magic’ and some poetry that reflected our shared conversations around the beauty of going on unexpected journeys in our life. Maybe you can relate?

I see that straight journeys
are a rare exception
So maybe it is OK
that mine is no different
On the map of my life
the line sometimes goes sideways
pivots
and spirals off in any number of directions and patterns
Unsettling to be sure
but perhaps there is a rightness, too
A purpose hidden within the chaos...

It’s been FULL weeks for me lately… and the diary is bursting with goodness!
… and in ‘full’ times like this, an old pattern of mine was to focus ONLY on the ‘doing’, telling myself there wasn’t enough time for the BEing! 😜

But not now!
Now I delight in finding the spaciousness that’s available to me, even if it’s only a micro dose…

Starting my day here at this little spot by the creek, coffee in hand, bird song in my heart and a cold water dip to wake me up… these 20 minutes every day are precious. As I tune into the soothing sound of the creek in flow, I too feel in flow… I ground in who I am and what I love most… I become more ME, and I’m ready for my day.

Slowing down in nature and contemplating all that’s precious is a significant part of the Feathertail experience 💚 If you haven’t sat in the creek bed yet with a cuppa in hand, maybe it’s time to get your diary out and book in a visit? 💚

I hope all is well with you and yours in the landscapes within and around 🙏🏽

Thank you for all your beautiful messages of support and care these past days. It’s meant a lot. I’ve felt so grateful for my connections beyond the forest and the genuine love that others have for this land too.

There’s some cleaning up to be done with tree fall around the house (*cough cough* calling in help if you have a chainsaw!) but otherwise Feathertail and I are well 💚

Power’s back on, generator can rest, mobile coverage has returned and last night, after 5 days without physical contact with humans (except for the ‘so glad we’re alive’ cuppa with a neighbour), flood waters receded enough to drive to my local community dance night and top up on hugs and oxytocin. Wow it felt good to co-regulate with other humans! 💗

I love my solitude,
AND I also love my connections with like-hearteds… Thank you for being here with me!
