I think I am starting to come out of the fog of the past 2 months and I just wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to all the lovely clients who have been so kind and understanding and left me some very touching messages.
Most of the time we don't realise or even believe we have had any positive impact on people and it's not till something happens and people tell you that you have that you can fully realise what a privelage you have been given.
Many of you have given me that privelage over the last 22 years I have been massaging and I thank you very much.

Now on a completely different note.
I am trying to source books in good condition. From childrens to young adult to fiction and non fiction.
So if you are about to donate or are downsizing your collection please keep me in mind.

On the 13th January my world turned upside down and is continuing to happen.
My thriving home business came to a sudden halt on that day and after 6 years at 27 Jainba street I sadly inform you that I will be moving out of the premises and will not continue seeing clients at A Knead For Balance home business.
Things have certainly not gone to plan this year and I am devastated about shutting shop after all these years.
For the people who purchased gift vouchers I will contact you over the coming weeks to arrange a refund.
Please know this has been a very upsetting decision to make but sometimes things happen that you can't control

I have been MIA for the past month taking care of family business.
I have been getting a number of messages asking if I will be back at work this week.
At this stage I am unable to return to work and I do apologise for this.
Here are some options of massage therapists for you

There is No More Knots at Taringa.

At this stage I cannot say when I will be returning to work.

My mum, my hardworking sidekick and inspiration sadly passed this morning at 9.45am.
If there is a happy place we go hopefully Mr Darcy will be waiting for her because he passed away yesterday.
Thank you to all my lovely clients who were fortunate enough to meet mum and always asked after her.
She fought a 10 year mighty battle with stage 3 Ovarian cancer with strength, humour and a don't ever give up attitude.

Just an update in regards to not working currently.
Whilst doing my best to care for mum 24/7 I am getting some short breaks to get out, visit the dogs, do some chores because of the help of mums friends and family and a special thanks to Jacky , Tammy coming down from Cairns and my youngest son and partner coming up from Sydney at short notice and staying the week, and my oldest son Alex for coming over and being there.
Its been a bit of a double whammy because I am also trying to organise my step dad to go into permanenrt residential care. Fortunately we have found the place so it's a matter of waiting for availability.
Until he goes I will be staying with him in my parents home and so it is a big unknown when I will be back at home and or working..
Happy days😭😭

I will be downing tools for the forseeable future as I now need to be with my mum fulltime in her final weeks
I will be closing at the end of this week indefinately.

I am not a huge fan of sharing too much private and personal stuff on facebook, however when personal events will impact my business then I feel I have to give my clients the heads up and hope you will understand.
I received my mum's permission to post this.
To those that don't know mum was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer almost 9 years ago.
She has had a couple of surgeries, many chemo cocktails and radiation treatments and managed to do remarkably well.
She certainly was an exception and not the rule and I think her specialist at the Wesley was awe inspired by her.
For example mum used to drive herself from the southside to the Wesley, have chemo and then drive home and then go line dancing that night.
This was up until recently. Unfortunately and quite suddenly mum is not doing so well and it is now time for me to step up and be there for her as she has been there for me for so many years..
I am her only child so it is up to me to help as much as I can and this will affect A Knead For Balance and client appointments if and when my mum needs help going into 2022.
Please be patient with me and I will do my best to not cancel and change appointments.

Today is my last day of working for 2021
Amid all the fear, confusion and craziness Covid 19 has consumed the world in, I am certainly very fortunate to be living and working in Brisbane.
Apart from a couple of short term lockdowns this year affecting A Knead For Balance overall it has been a good, consistent year
I appreciate and value all of my clients and I look forward to having a break from the 24th December and reopening on the 4th January and seeing you all again in 2022.

**At this stage January and February is fully booked.**

I will also be raising prices by $5 however the clients who have booked the whole of 2022 will not incur the price rise
Prices will be
30 min-$60
45 min - $75
60 min- $95
90 min $125

Just a couple of messages that lift my spirits in regards to the fashion fundraising I do throughout the year, whether it be having a couple of racks of clothes for clients to purchase or the pop up stall at my mum's line dancing socials she attends to the big fundraiser I put on
This is first and foremost to raise money to be able to buy as many products possible to fill as many bags as I can for the charity Share The Dignity xmas collection.
But what is also important is creating a circular fashion economy and reducing garment waste by reloving a quality garment.
This I couldn't be a part of without the generous donations of women in the community and I wanted to share how much other women love the good quality items you donate.
I would like to start up again in the new year so if you are doing a Marie Kondo and have items that are too good and you just dont want to throw in a donation bin please consider passing them onto myself.

Update on previous post.
I was going to take the 20th Oct- 1st November 2022 off for my son' s wedding.
Now it will be the 2nd - 13th October I will be taking off.
So if your monthly booking falls between the 2nd &13th you will miss out the appt for October.
And people with appts booked between the 20th and 1st November will now have those appts.

When booking October 2022 I had it in my head for some strange reason that my youngest son's wedding in NSW was on the 22nd October.
Well it is actually on the 8th October. DOH!!
So I will have to change the month of October's days off and when I will be working.
I will endeavour to sort it over the next couple of days and contact clients who are booked in to change appts.
