What to Expect:
Your teenage years are a time of major hormonal changes. This often leads to increased oil production, blocked pores, and breakouts - commonly on the face, chest, or back. You might also notice blackheads, whiteheads, and inflammatory acne.
What to Do:
✅ Use a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser daily.
✅ Avoid harsh scrubs as they can irritate acne-prone skin.
✅ Use a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser.
✅ Spot treatments containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid may help.
🚫 Don’t pick or squeeze spots as this increases the risk of scarring.
For moderate to severe acne, speak with your GP or a dermatologist.
Maintaining Skin Health:
Start simple and stick to it. Focus on consistency and getting into the habit of wearing SPF daily, even if acne is your main concern.
