Just saw the first whacky and dangerous diet cross my desk today - sigh. See all the red's in this graph? They are all the nutrients that you would not get if you ate this way. No vitamin B12 at all! Only a quarter of the energy that a female needs - so you would be tired and hungry (or in my case hangry!) by 10am. Not enough protein, so your body would be breaking down muscle from day 1. The human body has a LIVER that is very good at detoxing you don't need these kinds of diets where you mainly eat vegetables and water and nothing else. Rant over.

Trying some infused water recipes for Christmas for something different to plain water (it's been hot in Brissie).
1. Cucumber, mint and chilli - surprisingly refreshing
2. Cherry, lemon and mint - favourite
3. Ginger, peach and lemon - next time I'd add more peach and ginger
(Obviously I'm not competition for the food photographers - how do they get the fruit to sit and look pretty in the glasses and jugs???)

Tradie Tucker Tips - Keep it Simple

If you are a tradie, what tips to do you for healthy lunches?

Jamie and Mark Witte (MJ Witte Builder) are brothers (and my cousins) and both are chippies and builders. When I heard it was Tradie Health Month I thought of them as I know they eat and enjoy healthy lunches.

‘Nothing special gets done here’ was Mark’s comment and he keeps healthy eating simple by taking leftovers or meat and salad or sandwiches and fruit. Jamie said one of his favourite lunches was a salad including lettuce, grated carrot, cheese, boiled egg, tin of tuna with mayo or salad dressing.
Mark packs fruit and nut mix or several pieces of fruit for his snacks. He keeps it simple while getting plenty of energy to get him through the day.
