Many women assume gut symptoms begin with food.
What they eat.
What they shouldn’t eat.
What they need to remove or restrict.
And while food does play a role, it’s rarely the full picture. The gut is highly responsive to the nervous system. It responds to:
• pressure and pace
• emotional load
• decision fatigue
• how often the body is in a state of urgency
When the system is under sustained load, digestion is often one of the first areas to shift.
Bloating becomes more frequent.
Tolerance to foods changes.
Symptoms feel inconsistent or unpredictable.
Not because something is “wrong”… but because the body is adapting to the conditions it’s operating within. For many women, this is where things start to feel confusing.
The same foods don’t feel the same anymore. The same routines stop working. And the instinct is to try harder to control it. But often, the more helpful question is - "What has my body been responding to?"
