A team of dynamic University-qualified Accredited Exercise Physiologists prescribing gym-based rehabilitation and conditioning measures to a wide range of clientele. Chronic and acute disease management with populations suffering from:
• Musculoskeletal injury and pain, including pre/post-surgery care,
• Cardiorespiratory conditions, such as negative Heart health and Obstructive Lung disorders,
• Metabolic conditions, such as Diabetes, Hypertension and Obesity. Who is eligible to have an appointment with Restart? If you suffer from a condition or injury that is negatively affecting your ability to perform activities of daily living, whether it be a desire to complete a gym-session pain free, play with the kids/grandchildren without aggravating your lower back, or improving your strength as a whole, we can help. FOOT HEALTH WORKSHOP 🦶

THORACIC OUTLET SYNDROME RECOVERY 🏌️‍♀️

Zoe recently came to Restart requiring support to get back to playing professional golf without shoulder and neck pain.

Having received a diagnosis of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (a condition in which there is compression of the nerves, arteries, or veins in the passageway from the lower neck to the armpit), Zoe was unable to play golf without pain and unsure where to turn next.

Whilst progress is ongoing, with Luke's guidance Zoe has made some positive strides which has allowed her to get back out on the greens ⛳ - all going well Zoe will be back on the WPGA soon!

TYPE 2 DIABETES REVERSAL 💊 ❌ 💪🏼 😀

Luke’s patient John has achieved some great wins over the course of his treatment to date with Restart. Perhaps the greatest win (aside from now being able to shop for clothes with confidence) is the reversal of his T2 Diabetes.

John no longer requires medication (plus the associated side-effects) as an intervention to lower his blood sugar levels!

Last week Luke attended the Brisbane North Disability Network Meeting to meet and greet fellow service providers in the disability space.

Restart’s 2024 Big Hairy Audacious Goal is to support and assist 100 new NDIS participants to achieve their capacity-building health and wellness goals via fun, stimulating and personalised Exercise Physiology treatment.

Collaborating with like-minded is a must to achieve our goal and expand our reach to participants based local to our 3 Brisbane clinics.

LATERAL NECK ROLLER TECHNIQUE 🙌

If you are prone to a forward head carry, neck tension, headaches or loss of mental clarity or brain fog, give this movement a try!

How to perform:
1. Stand alongside a wall and place the roller against the side of your neck below your jaw.

2. Maintain a stance with feet under hips and knees slightly bent, exerting pressure on the roller with the outer leg.

3. Perform 4 rolls up and down, taking 30-60 seconds to pause on any sensitive areas.

4. Follow this with 4 shifts forward and backward.

5. Remember to practice deep breathing throughout the movement.

This self-myofascial engagement (SME) technique targets the muscle (myo) and surrounding fascia (fascial) to yield effective results. This will allow for greater freedom of movement, less tension both locally and in the surrounding areas, and improved function and well-being.
