Stepping Stone North We are a membership-based mental health community of people who are dedicated to rebuilding their lives.

A clubhouse on the Northside of Brisbane has been a dream for Stepping Stone for over a decade, and we have finally made it a reality in early 2024!

What an amazing social rec day we had!

We set off from Stepping Stone North to the Wynnum Wading Pool, and it turned out to be a fantastic adventure. We indulged in some delicious fish and chips while enjoying lively conversations.

After our scrumptious meal, we took a lovely stroll and then refreshing swim in the pools.

To top it all off, we enjoyed a beautiful walk along the jetty, where we spotted some incredible flying fish!

This was such a fun social rec, and I can hardly wait for next week’s outing!

🌟 Thank You, Cisco Team! 🌟
Today we had the pleasure of welcoming corporate volunteers from our incredible friends at Cisco and Insite into our clubhouse for an inspiring day of collaboration and connection.

Their involvement in the Work-Ordered Day included working in the kitchen to cook delicious BBQ chicken and veggie skewers. During this time, we all chatted and had many laughs. Thank you Cisco for shouting our members lunch today! It means the world. 🌏

Cisco and Insite teams also worked side by side with members creating social media posts and editing and sharing our House Meeting minutes. It was great to have them come along and learn what we do.

We sincerely appreciate their commitment, positivity, and eagerness to contribute.

We look forward to welcoming you back again soon! 💙💚

Stepping Stone North and Stepping Stone Clubhouse were so grateful to be invited to the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust event yesterday and were lucky enough to receive a grant to fund our Christmas Party and Christmas Day Lunch. 🎁🎄

It was great to connect with other organisations and donors, and of course spend some time with Santa ✨

Thank you so much to the Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and and the Lord Mayors Charitable Trust as we are now able to provide delicious lunch for our community on Christmas Day. As we know this can be a very isolating time for some people and we feel very honoured to host Christmas lunch at our Clubhouse.

Camp Tallebudgera Final day wrap up!!! 🏖️⛱️☀️

This morning we packed up early and had breakfast. After that, some went on a beautiful headland walk to Burleigh Heads while others chilled by the creek. 🌊 🚶🚶‍♀️
We had an amazing time catching up and meeting members from Southside.

We’d like to thank all the staff & members from Steps and the rec centre for making our time enjoyable. 🌻🌻👍💛

For today’s social rec we road tripped to the Gold Coast, met up with our Stepping Stone Clubhouse and Stepping Stone North camping crew, enjoyed a sausage sizzle and salads with homemade brownies and coconut muffins, then finished the day between Tallebudgera Creek swims and Burleigh headland walks. Couldn’t ask for better! 😊

🩵 Some of our favourite things about today 🩵

🏖️ Michael - My favourite things about today was meeting new stepping stone friends, a relaxing dip, seeing a dolphin and collecting some nice shells

🏖️ Tash - Swimming in Tallebudgera Creek, sunshine and a sausage sizzle — the simple things are the best.

🏖️ Briar - We had a great day! So much to enjoy. I super loved walking the trail where beach meets bush and dipping my toes in the cool creek

🏖️ Linda - Today at social rec with SSNers and SS Cooparoo guys … what l enjoyed most was meeting heaps of new members as well as connecting with them and our guys as well. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience which actually soothed the stress l have been experiencing and therefore helping my mental health

Day 1 of Camp Tallebudgera!!!

What an awesome day we have had at Tallebudgera/Burleigh Heads ☀️⛱️🏖️

We turned a carriage of the Gold Coast Train into the Clubhouse carriage, saw a famous face, and enjoyed a lovely lunch at Burleigh Heads Beach. We then got settled into our lovely cabins, and enjoyed the great area of Tallebudgera (the water was beautiful) 🏖️⛺️🚊🍔!

Looking forward to dinner and another spectacular day packed with fun tomorrow!

✨ Well, well! What an amazing wrap-up to the end of the Stepping Stone North week! ✨

🎉 We celebrated birthdays and anniversaries with joy and laughter.
🤝 SYC joined us to share how we can collaborate to support our members through employment opportunities.
🏕️ Our happy campers headed off for their weekend getaway to beautiful Tallebudgera with Stepping Stone Clubhouse.
🎄 And to top it all off, we put up our Christmas tree and decorations—bringing festive cheer to our space!

This morning Helen, Eve and Anna from Stepping Stone North went to Nundah Mental Health Community Centre to share what we do and how we support our community.

We presented to staff from both the psychosis & adult mental health teams sharing the importance of our Work Ordered Day, Social Recreation program on weekends/public holidays and our Healthy Active Living Program.

Thank you so much for hosting us this morning, it was wonderful to connect and share our own member stories of how Clubhouse has supported us, fostered connections with peers and improved our lives.

Wow! What a such beautiful day for us Stepping Stone North clubhouse to get together! We drove to Wellington Point for a nice senic drive along with music and great conversations. We all had a delicious sausage sizzle along side with amazing fruit salad. Lastly, we all went for a stroll along Wellington Point Island where there was a lovely breeze. To top that off the day we had ice cream from Baskin Robbin’s. A day that can’t be missed with great company.

Today our clubhouse was buzzing with energy as the amazing team from Data #3 joined us for a fantastic day of corporate volunteering! 🙌

From working side by side with our members in the Work-Ordered Day, to sharing valuable skills and building genuine connections — it was an inspiring day all round. 💙

Today at Stepping Stone North, we had visitors who are learning/doing the Clubhouse International - ICCD Accreditation/Training. They came to the clubhouse this morning and had breakfast with us (which was delicious) then we did the morning meeting and separated into groups for tours to explain the functions of our vibrant and dedicated clubhouse.

The visitors came from
Alliance House - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
Fontenehuset Gjøvik - Gjovik, Norway
The Junction Clubhouse Cairns - Cairns, Queensland

They are doing the International Clubhouse Training over the next week and a bit at Stepping Stone Clubhouse in Coorparoo they're very excited to learn about what makes a clubhouse special.
