We are a membership-based mental health community of people who are dedicated to rebuilding their lives.

A clubhouse on the Northside of Brisbane has been a dream for Stepping Stone for over a decade, and we have finally made it a reality in early 2024!

☀️What perfect weather for a trip up to the Sunny Coast to one of Australia’s most popular beaches, Mooloolaba. 🏖️

Team Stepping Stone North drove up in two cars and arrived at a lovely spot just walking distance from the surf beach. When we arrived there around lunch time, we fired up the BBQ and cooked sausages and meat patties. 🍔🌭

After our feast, we walked 4km along the beach towards the surf club where the life savers were. Lots of us went for a swim, while others just relaxed and chilled by the water. To top it all off, we finished the day with delicious ice cream.

Over a delicious fresh nourish lunch we had an amazing opportunity to meet with Abby & Cat from Metro North Health at the S*xual Health and HIV Service where we learnt some important information about STI's, preventative sexual health, contraception & HIV management.

This is an incredibly important aspect of staying safe & healthy, and the incredible people over at S*xual Health and HIV Service offer these services FREE OF CHARGE. No Medicare card, Health Care card or concession of any kind is required to access these services.

Meeting with services like this is an incredible opportunity for both the service, and ourselves here at the clubhouse, to get to know one another and start transformative and long-lasting relationships. Through continued conversations, tours and lunches like this, we are able to provide our members with even more support in many aspects of their life.

As a Clubhouse dedicated to healthy active lifestyle and supporting individuals with mental health struggles, this was an invaluable meeting, and we look forward to future opportunities just like this.

Stepping Stone North visited the Prince Charles Hospital to deliver presentations on what Stepping Stone is all about.

We each enjoyed explaining what we enjoy about Stepping Stone, and all the positive benefits we receive by being members.

A great conversation with many questions and fruitful answers.

It's always good to connect with our local community. 👬👫🫂

The final $2 dips were absolutely exhilarating! 🏊‍♀️

What a thrill it was to splash around and connect with fellow swimmers while we got our laps in. 🤿

We're definitely going to miss swimming, but the excitement is building for tennis next Friday week! 🏓🎾

Today’s Lunar New Year Social Rec update!

We took the train 🚆 to Fortitude Valley for the Lunar New Year 🌘 festival, and saw the Dotting of the Lions welcoming ceremony and some Traditional Korean Percussion and Dancing. 🇰🇷🦁🥁🪘

It was really great to witness the celebration of several different cultures. 🎉🥳

We also had some delicious food at the stalls, including chicken satay, Moo Ping, and chicken wings. 🍗🥜

It was a really interesting festival and was very fun to see. 😊

Sadly today was our last NEST session with OzHarvest.
We cooked delicious tandoori chicken and tofu wraps with salad. For dessert we made chocolate spiders and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
We finished with a graduation ceremony and received a cookbook of easy and healthy recipes.
The program was very beneficial and Chloe was an excellent teacher. We are all sad that it is ending and would recommend the program. 😃🥒🐔🫔🥗🍰🍫

Join us for a powerful in-person event to explore how different providers play an important role in creating meaningful outcomes for NDIS participants, through connected presentations from initial diagnosis to implementation, specialist training and community participation.

Social rec.

It may have been raining but we sure made the most of the day we had.

Started off checking out Roma street park lands where we enjoyed a lovely BBQ.

After eating a delicious lunch, we headed over to Southbank to have a look around the museum.

What a great day we had

Looking forward to another great social rec next week going to Luna new year celebrations.

This week we had a visit from Jenn, Idalia and Simone from Communify Queensland Redcliffe Medicare Mental Health Centre. They had a tour and learnt all about the clubhouse and its benefits from our members. The visitors were very interested in learning about our Stepping Stone Evaluation Project.

Over a delicious healthy Nourish Unit lunch they shared information about the services they provide to people living with mental health challenges who live in the Redcliffe Hospital catchment.

We hope we can work together to help continue to provide best support for members of the community. 😀🌻

What an amazing learning opportunity to learn new tricks and tips in the NEST program from our facilitator Chloe from OzHarvest. We are now in week 6 towards the end of our cooking course. We have all learnt so much and gained a lot of confidence during our time. The cooking class has improved our general cooking at home!

We couldn't be anymore grateful!
