💪 Monday Motivation: Start Your Week Strong!

A new week is a fresh opportunity to move with purpose, set positive intentions, and put yourself first. Exercise isn’t just about physical health—it’s a powerful way to boost your mood, sharpen your mind, and feel more in control of your Parkinson’s journey.

Whether it’s a short walk, a quick PD Warrior session, or a few energising stretches—do something today that gets your body moving and your mind focused.

⭐ And don’t forget! ⭐
Tomorrow’s LIVE lunchtime class is all about the Fun Factor—and we’re encouraging everyone to bring a buddy! Grab a friend, family member, or exercise partner to join you and Coach Ana for a fun, high-energy session you won’t want to miss.

⭐ This month in the PLUS platform our theme is 'Fun Factor' ⭐

We’re hoping to add fun, variations, and ideas on how to get the energy back into your exercise. 💪

Exercising with a buddy isn’t just more enjoyable—it can actually help you get better results. When you train with a friend, family member, or fellow Warrior, you’re more likely to stay consistent, push a little harder, and stay motivated even on tough days.

For people living with Parkinson’s, having a workout partner adds structure, accountability, and social interaction—all of which support your emotional well-being and may help reduce feelings of isolation. A buddy can also assist with balance if needed, offer encouragement, and even join in on games or circuits to keep things light-hearted and fun.

We’d love for you to bring a buddy to next Tuesday’s LIVE lunchtime class! Coach Ana will be joined by her own exercise partner as they guide you through a fun, energising PD Warrior session together. Exercising with a friend not only makes it more enjoyable—it helps boost motivation, adds a little friendly support, and keeps you accountable.

So don’t go it alone—grab a buddy, tune in, and move together!

This August, we’re bringing the Fun Factor to the forefront of your training! Our featured exercise of the month is Wall Tennis—a playful and energising coordination drill that’s best done with a buddy, friend, or family member.

Using a lightweight ball, take turns bouncing it off a wall to each other. Not only does this improve hand-eye coordination and reaction time, but it also adds a dose of friendly competition to your routine. Incorporating social interaction and laughter into your training can help reduce stress and boost dopamine levels, both important for people living with Parkinson’s.

Try Wall Tennis throughout the month and see if you notice improvements in your coordination, timing, and motivation. Most importantly—have fun and don’t be afraid to get a little competitive!

This month in PLUS we’re diving into the connection between food, digestion, movement and Parkinson’s symptoms.

Did you know constipation and poor gut motility are common in Parkinson’s and can affect how well your medication works? Constipation is a common non-motor symptom of Parkinson’s and can be made worse by medication, reduced mobility, and low fluid or fibre intake. The good news? Increasing fibre in your diet—alongside proper hydration—can support smoother digestion, more regular bowel movements, and even reduce bloating or discomfort.

🌟 Tip of the Week: Add one extra serve of vegetables and drink 1 extra glass of water each day this week.

If you're living with Parkinson’s, you likely already know it affects more than just movement. Digestive health, energy levels, and even medication absorption can all be influenced by what you eat—and when.

Did you know that high-protein meals can affect how well your Parkinson’s medication works?

This month in PD Warrior PLUS, we're talking about nutrition and how to stay healthy with a balanced diet. Protein is crucial for building and repairing tissues, supporting the immune system, and providing your body with energy. It's important you're getting the right amount of protein in your diet, however, make sure it's not interfering with your medication!

For more tips and advice, head over to the PLUS platform or sign up here and receive weekly newsletters, weekly workouts, education, and our community.
