✨Endometriosis
✨Pelvic floor dysfunction
✨Vaginismus
✨Vaginal dryness or hormonal changes
✨Infections or inflammation
✨You are not overreacting.
✨You are not alone.

🩸 Understanding Your Menstrual Cycle: One Phase at a Time
Your menstrual cycle isn’t just about your period—it’s a dynamic, hormone-driven rhythm that impacts your mood, energy, fertility, and overall wellbeing. 💛

✨ Here’s a quick breakdown of the four main phases:
1️⃣ Menstrual: When your period starts.
2️⃣ Follicular: Your body prepares to release an egg.
3️⃣ Ovulation: Fertility peaks as the egg is released.
4️⃣ Luteal: Your body either prepares for pregnancy or starts to prepare for the cycle to restart

Learning your body’s rhythm can help you make sense of symptoms, track ovulation, or simply connect more deeply with your health. 🌸

📍Noticing irregular cycles, pain, or symptoms that feel out of balance? A gynaecologist can help uncover what’s going on.

Fertility After Miscarriage 💛

Navigating fertility after loss is a deeply personal journey—one that involves both emotional and physical healing. Whether you're eager to try again or unsure of what comes next, you're not alone in how you feel.

✨ So, when is the right time to try again?
Medically, there is no strict time frame. Most women wait until they feel physically and emotionally prepared. Waiting for one period can aid emotional healing and pregnancy tracking. Support, connection, and honest conversations with your care provider can help guide your next steps.

💬 Remember:
You didn’t do anything wrong.
Your feelings are valid.
And your body deserves kindness and care through this next chapter.

Whenever you feel ready, we’re here to support you.

📍Speak with a GP or fertility specialist if you’ve experienced multiple miscarriages or are seeking guidance on your next steps.

💛 The Golden Hour After Birth: Why It Matters

The first hour after your baby is born—often called the golden hour—isn’t just magical, it’s medically beneficial too. If your birth allows, having uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact during this time can support both you and your baby in some really beautiful ways.

✨ Why is it so important?
✔ Helps regulate the baby’s temperature, heart rate and breathing
✔ Encourages early breastfeeding and milk production
✔ Boosts oxytocin (the love hormone) to support bonding
✔ Lowers stress for both the baby and parent

Whether you’re planning a vaginal birth or Caesarean, talk to your care provider about including the golden hour in your birth plan—because those first snuggles are more than just heartwarming…they’re powerful. 🤍

💗 What is Lichen Sclerosus?

Lichen Sclerosus is a chronic skin condition that most often affects the vulval area, though it can also occur elsewhere on the body. It’s not contagious and is most common in postmenopausal women and children, though it can affect anyone.

✨ Common symptoms include:
– Persistent itching or discomfort
– White, thin, or patchy skin
– Pain during s*x or urination
– Skin that tears easily or appears shiny

While the exact cause isn’t fully understood, it may be linked to autoimmune conditions or hormonal changes. With early diagnosis and treatment—usually with prescription steroid creams—symptoms can be managed effectively, and long-term changes can be prevented. Unfortunately, there is a small risk of cancer if the disease advances and is untreated.

If something doesn’t feel right, trust your body and reach out. 🧡

📍Talk to your GP or gynaecologist if you’re experiencing any of these symptoms.

🧡 Same-s*x couples in Australia have more inclusive, supported options than ever before when it comes to starting or growing their families.

From IUI and IVF to surrogacy, each pathway is unique—and it’s important to understand what’s available, how it works, and what feels right for you.

✨ Let’s break it down:
✔ IUI – A simple, less invasive option involving donor s***m.
✔ IVF – Offers flexibility, especially for reciprocal IVF or when IUI isn’t effective or in male same s*x couples.
✔ Surrogacy – A beautiful option for male same-s*x couples or anyone unable to carry a pregnancy to term.
Your journey to parenthood is just that—yours. You deserve care that respects and supports your identity and choices every step of the way. 🌈

🤰 Noticing a tightening in your belly from time to time? It might be Braxton Hicks contractions—your body’s natural way of getting ready for birth.

✨ These "practice contractions" are completely normal and usually harmless, especially during the second and third trimesters. Think of them as little reminders that your body is preparing for the big day—just not quite yet.

🩺 Braxton Hicks usually feel:
– Irregular and infrequent
– Like a mild or gentle tightening
– Less intense than true labour contractions
– Relieved by rest or staying hydrated

If they start to feel regular, stronger, or more uncomfortable, it’s always a good idea to check in with your care provider—just for peace of mind.

💗 Your body knows what it’s doing, and each little step is part of the beautiful journey ahead.

💗 It’s often the little things that can make the biggest difference in recovery.

Did you know that something as simple as chewing gum can gently support your body after abdominal surgery?

This small act can help stimulate digestion, encourage bowel movements, and ease post-operative bloating or nausea—making your healing process a little more comfortable.

🌸 Some of the benefits may include:
✨ A quicker return of normal bowel function
✨ Lower risk of post-op complications like ileus (intestinal blockage)
✨ Potential for shorter hospital stays

It’s low-cost, easy, and generally well-tolerated—but always speak with your care team before trying anything new post-surgery.
Recovery takes time, and gentle steps—like this one—can support your journey. 💕

Every recovery matters, and every little step counts.

💔 If you’ve experienced more than one pregnancy loss, please know this: you are not alone.

Recurrent miscarriage can feel incredibly isolating and deeply painful—but it's more common than many realise, and support is available here in Australia.

🧡 What is recurrent miscarriage?
It’s typically defined as two or more consecutive pregnancy losses and affects around 1–2% of couples trying to conceive.

🧪 There can be a number of possible causes, including:
– Chromosomal issues
– Hormonal imbalances (like thyroid issues or PCOS)
– Uterine malformations
– Blood clotting disorders
– Immune system factors
– Lifestyle or environmental contributors

Sometimes, despite all the tests and care, no clear cause is found in up to 50% of cases—and that can be especially tough to process.

✨ If this is part of your journey, please know there are pathways forward. Your GP or fertility specialist can help by:
– Investigating the possible reasons
– Offering emotional and psychological support
– Creating a care plan that’s tailored for you

You deserve time to grieve, space to heal, and a team that listens with compassion. However you're feeling right now—it’s valid. 💕

💗 “Will I tear during birth?”

It’s a question many women ask as they prepare for labour—and if you’ve experienced a tear before, the worry about it happening again can feel incredibly heavy. You're not alone in this fear, and your concerns are completely valid. 💭💕

Here’s what might bring some reassurance:
✨ Not every birth results in tearing, and when it does happen, many tears are minor and heal well with the right care and support.
✨ If you’re concerned about a significant tear, your care team will work closely with you to create a plan—this might include personalised birth planning, antenatal perineal massage, or considering an elective caesarean if it’s the safest choice.
✨ It’s okay to talk about your fears. Fear of childbirth—also known as tocophobia—is real, and there is support available through your birth team and mental health professionals.

You deserve to feel heard, supported, and safe as you approach birth. Every body is different, every experience is unique, and there is no one right way to bring your baby into the world. 💕
