What does it mean to have a “healthy relationship” with food?

There are a few questions you can ask yourself to find out:

1. Are you in tune with your body cues – when you’re hungry, when you’re feeling full?
2. Are you eating appropriate amounts of each food group at regular intervals?
3. Are you comfortable eating alone and around other people?
4. Are you able to enjoy food without feeling guilty or having it overtake your life?

If you answered no to any of these, it might be worth discussing with your healthcare team.

An easy meal idea the whole family will love – without compromising on your diet.

Chicken Satay Cups (makes 4 cups)

Ingredients:
1 teaspoon peanut oil
400g lean chicken mince
1/2 cup mild satay sauce
1 onion, diced
1 carrot, grated
125g can corn kernels, drained
4 iceberg lettuce leaf cups

Method:
Heat oil in a wok over medium to high heat. Add onion and mince and stir-fry for about 5 minutes, or until browned. Add satay sauce and stir-fry until well combined. Add carrot and corn and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until carrot is tender. Spoon mixture into lettuce leaf cups to serve.

This recipe may also be suitable for a soft diet if you serve without lettuce cups.

Hormones guide the body through a complex system that regulates appetite, fat storage, energy use and stress responses.

Imbalances or changes in these signals can affect weight, which is why weight loss can sometimes feel inconsistent or unpredictable.

Understanding how hormones influence weight can help explain why things feel the way they do and make long-term change feel more achievable.
