A groundbreaking international study has shown that structured exercise can slash the risk of colon cancer coming back by 28% and reduce the risk of death by 37%. That’s on par with some of the best cancer drugs, without the side effects.

Rob and some of his colleagues at QUT were lucky enough to work with some of the participants in this research, helping deliver supervised, supportive exercise that’s now changing lives.

Yet another reason to keep moving. 🏃‍♀️💪

A raft of new studies on cancer and exercise show clear benefits. But a question hangs over the benefits of endurance runners.

🏃‍♂️💥 Rob’s not just training his legs for the Sunshine Coast Marathon – he’s training his brain too! 🧠🔥

New research shows marathon running can temporarily use up brain insulation (myelin) for energy – but don’t stress, it bounces back in weeks! 🧈🔋

Turns out, the brain’s in it for the long run too. 🧠🏁

Cheer Rob on as he pounds the pavement this August! ☀️👟

New research shows that running a marathon can cause a temporary reduction in brain myelin, the fatty substance that insulates neurons and supports efficient communication.

A comprehensive review has confirmed that physical activity enhances brain function across all age groups. Children and adolescents show notable improvements in memory, while individuals with ADHD experience significant gains in executive functions like planning and problem-solving. Overall, cognitive benefits are consistent regardless of exercise type, intensity, or duration. Engaging activities such as yoga, Tai Chi, and interactive video games ('exergames') are particularly effective in boosting brain health.

It doesn't matter what age you are or how tough your exercise plan is – whatever physical activity you are doing is probably helping your brain, according to the largest and most comprehensive 'umbrella' review to date.

Ever wondered how GLP-1 medications work? Drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy reduce "food noise" by slowing digestion and signaling fullness, helping with appetite control. While effective for weight loss, they’re costly unless prescribed for diabetes under the PBS. Lifestyle strategies like high-protein meals, better sleep, and stress management can also help.

People on Ozempic and other GLP-1 agonist drugs commonly report they no longer have constant, incessant thoughts about food. This is how the drugs work.
