If you’ve found your way here recently, this is probably the most important thing you’ll read from me. 💚

I don’t just understand chronic illness.
I understand what it looks like to live in a way that keeps you stuck in it.

Because before I became an Autoimmune Resilience coach…
I was someone who constantly overrode my own body.

I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis over 30 years ago.

And I thought the goal was to manage it better.

So I did what most people do:
— I pushed through when I could
— Rested when I had no choice
— Tried to keep up with everything and everyone

But underneath all of that was something I didn’t see at the time:

I was a people pleaser.

So I kept saying yes.
Kept showing up.
Kept proving I was “okay.”

Because disappointing someone felt worse than the crash.💥

And that’s what kept me stuck in the same cycle:
Push → crash → recover → repeat

Every week.

Until I got honest with myself:
This isn’t working.

Not my effort.
Not my mindset.

The way I was handling it.

That’s what had to change.

And when it did, my life didn’t suddenly become perfect.

But it became steady.

I stopped starting over every week.
I started trusting my body again.
I stopped abandoning myself just to keep everything else going.

And that’s why I do this work now.

Because so many women are still stuck in that same pattern…
thinking they just need to manage it better.

When really, they’ve never been shown another way.

If you’re reading this and thinking,
“this is exactly what I’ve been doing…”

Comment “GUIDE” and I’ll message you.
We’ll look at your pattern and what’s actually keeping you stuck.

Most people see the outside version.

They don’t see what it actually takes to function with chronic illness.

My recent podcast episode is my story, no filters, no soft version of it.

If you’ve ever felt like people don’t really understand what you’re living with…

A stranger followed me through the carpark.
Filmed me without my permission. 🤳🏽
Then threatened to post it on Facebook to prove I was faking my disability.

Because I parked in a disabled spot and looked “too well” to deserve it.

I did not fight back.
I got back in my car and sat there quietly, not knowing if a video of me was already being shared somewhere.

Because when you live with an invisible illness, you learn fast that most people will not believe you unless you are visibly falling apart. So you start proving yourself before anyone even asks.

You over-explain to every doctor.
You apologise for needing rest.
You calculate whether today’s pain is bad enough to justify asking for help.
You rehearse what you are going to say before you say it, just in case someone pushes back.

And the weight of all that proving?
That is not your illness doing that to you.

That is what managing it alone, quietly, over years, does to a person.

I talked about what actually happened that day in Season 3 Episode 7 of Thrive with Sharon: Real Talk with Chronic Illness Warriors where I have Janice Russel as my guest.

It is not a vent. It is a conversation about what it actually takes to stop shrinking.

If you are tired of carrying this quietly and wondering if it ever gets lighter, let’s talk this week. 🌿

It’s getting worse and you can feel it. 🌊

Not suddenly.
Not dramatically.
But enough that you’ve noticed.

⚡️Your energy isn’t holding the same.
Recovery takes longer.
Things that used to feel manageable… don’t.

But you’re still pushing through.
Because nothing is “wrong enough.”
Nothing diagnosed. Nothing clear.

So you keep adapting.
Adjusting your day.
Lowering your expectations.
Telling yourself it’s just a phase.

It’s not random.
When your body isn’t being responded to,
it doesn’t stop.
It gets louder.

And “managing it” only works
until it doesn’t.

At some point, you have to decide,
do you keep working around it,
or actually understand what’s driving it?

If this feels uncomfortably accurate,
you don’t need to figure it out alone. 💚

You’ve been told your whole life to be the strong one.

The reliable one.
The one who doesn’t make things harder for anyone else.

So you learnt to:
push through
stay quiet
carry more than you should

And now your body is the one paying for it.

This is the part no one explains clearly enough—
chronic illness isn’t just physical.

It’s the years of:
holding things in
not saying no
feeling responsible for everyone else

That pressure doesn’t disappear.
It builds.

And eventually… your body starts responding.

Not because it’s broken.
But because it’s overwhelmed.

If you keep going the way you are now, nothing shifts.

Same cycles.
Same crashes.
Same quiet exhaustion behind the scenes.

But it can be different.

Not perfectly.
Not overnight.
But in a way where things actually feel lighter, steadier, and more manageable.

If you’re at the point where you know something has to change…

You can book a free 15-min clarity call with me 💚
We’ll look at what’s really going on for you and what support could actually help.

No pressure. No fluff. Just real support.

Rest is supposed to help. So why does it feel like this?

You finally stop…
and instead of relief, you feel behind.

Behind on work.
Behind on life.
Behind on who you used to be.

So you rush the rest.

You tell yourself you’ll “bounce back tomorrow.”
You try to catch up too quickly.

And then it happens again.
Because this isn’t real rest.

This is recovery after collapse.
And your body knows the difference.

When rest only happens after you’ve pushed too far,
it doesn’t feel safe.

It feels forced.

That’s why it’s frustrating.
That’s why you resent it.
That’s why it never feels like enough.
This isn’t a discipline problem.

It’s not a mindset issue.
It’s a pattern your body has adapted to.

And until that pattern changes, rest will always feel like something that’s holding you back, instead of supporting you.

That’s the shift most people are missing.

If you know this can’t keep going, start with a call today.

Chronic illness can make bed feel like home.
And when you’re there long enough,
the thoughts start creeping in.

Not loud. Just… constant.

You think about who you used to be.
When energy wasn’t something you had to calculate.
When getting up didn’t feel like a decision.

Now everything has a cost:
what you can do,
what it might take,
how you’ll feel after.

So you adjust.
You say “maybe” instead of yes.
You cancel more than you show up.
You expect less, just to cope.

And slowly, you feel further away from yourself.
That’s the part that hurts most. Not just fatigue.

But the thought:
“Is this just who I am now?”

If that’s been sitting in your mind, you don’t have to stay there.
If this feels familiar, message me “RESET” 💚

We’ll take small steps to get you feeling like yourself again.

If masking your symptoms is exhausting you, this is for you.

Holding it together on the outside while managing pain, fatigue, and fear on the inside is a quiet kind of burnout.

You’re not overreacting.
You’re responding to years of having to be “okay” for everyone else.

You deserve a space where you don’t have to explain or minimise what you’re living with.

Sometimes being heard is the first relief.

If you’re tired of carrying this alone and want to talk through your next step, comment READY.

I’ll message you privately so we can explore whether a call feels right.
