Play based therapy is the heart of what we do in paediatric therapy. When therapy looks like play, children are more motivated, confident, and more likely to succeed. ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™‚๏ธ Following their lead and meeting them where they're at enables children to naturally explore their world, learn new skills and build confidence.

At Hiya Health, we believe that effective therapy is built on trust, safety, and connection. Today, weโ€™re asking our allied health therapists in our Cleveland Clinic, whether in occupational therapy, exercise physiology or physiotherapy, what their green flags are during a therapy session.

Is it when a client feels heard and understood? When goals are clearly set and progress is visible? Or when thereโ€™s a strong collaborative partnership between therapist and client?

These green flags signal a positive therapeutic relationship and pave the way for meaningful outcomes.

Now, we want to hear from you! What are your therapy green flags that a session is on the right track? Share your thoughts in the comments and letโ€™s start the conversation about what makes therapy work best! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Vestibular Physiotherapy is a specialised area of physiotherapy that treats symptoms of vestibular dysfunction - an inner ear and brain system that helps control balance, movement, and stabilise vision. Symptoms can include dizziness, vertigo, imbalance and gaze instability.

Vestibular goggles are a valuable tool for both diagnosis and treatment of vestibular conditions. They allow clinicians to observe involuntary eye movements, known as nystagmus, which is a sign of vestibular dysfunction.
Using infrared cameras, the goggles record eye movements in complete darkness, removing visual fixation and external lighting influences that can make these eye movements easy to miss. Clinicians can then accurately assess the underlying cause of symptoms and develop individualised treatment plans.

If you need support for dizziness, vertigo, motion sickness or balance issues, our team can help. Get in touch today.

Occupational Therapists help kids and adults build real-life skills like handwriting and using fine motor skills with fun, hands-on activities that feel more like play than practice! From strengthening hands and fingers to refining grip and control, we use cooking, crafting, games and everyday routines to boost confidence, coordination and independence in a way thatโ€™s meaningful to each person. โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ”ช๐Ÿ’ช

Today we are wearing our Big Freeze beanies in support of MND Awareness Day! ๐ŸงŠ๐Ÿ’™
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) affects the nerves that control movement - making everyday tasks harder over time. While there's no cure yet, therapy can also make a real difference.

At Hiya Health, our Occupational Therapists, Physios, and Excercise Physiologists work with people living with MND to help them stay independent, safe, and connected for as long as possible.
