Cutler and Gross frames exist beyond the boundaries of gender. Designed with a rare sense of balance, they move effortlessly between masculine and feminine expression. It's a design language so assured it needs no qualifiers. In this equilibrium lies their distinction — frames that adapt to the wearer, not the other way around.

Lily wears Lancier by Dita.

"Paying a little homage to the stylish eyewear of the 70s, this little titanium aviator feels minimal, yet distinctly directional. I love the layered brow bar and the subtle coin-pressed detail along the lens rim. But the best thing is they're so impossibly light you almost forget you're wearing them."

Just landed at Makras Optical: Thom Browne.

Nostalgic futurism sits at the core of Thom Browne’s design language — where the past is not simply revisited, but reconfigured. Drawing from the uniforms of mid-century architects, politicians, and professors, the codes of the 1940s, ’50s, and ’60s are distilled and recast. What emerges exists between eras: grounded in traditional American tailoring, yet sharpened by an avant-garde sensibility.

Designed in Barcelona and forged from titanium in Japan, VOA’s frames carry a mechanical, almost robotic precision — yet resolve into something unexpectedly refined: a striking expression of their radical ideal. A rare balance of engineering and art.

At its core, the brand reflects a quintessentially Japanese ethos of 'Shokunin'. This is a devotion to craft — not as a means to an end, but as an intrinsically held obligation: to submit to the discipline of process, and to pursue refinement with quiet resolve. This ethos is expressed in frames defined by stillness, restraint, and material honesty.

Introducing Lapima.

Founded in Brazil by husband-and-wife duo Gustavo and Gisela Assis, Lapima draws deeply from the country’s visual language — the sweeping curves of its landscapes and the fluid lines of its modernist architecture, most notably the work of Oscar Niemeyer.

In that same spirit, each frame is sculpted with a sense of volume and movement, defined by softly contoured forms and distinctive bevelled edges.

VOA is radical in both form and intent — eschewing the conventions that define eyewear. As our friends at observed, the brand is guided by “a distinct ideological core that feels as much philosophical as it is aesthetic.”

Yoshinori Aoyama is one of those rare discoveries encountered only occasionally. There is a pared-back honesty to the work—an almost meditative quality that extends beyond material and design, suggesting something more deeply ingrained.

It reflects a continuum of long-held Japanese cultural values, where craft is not simply practised, but lived.
