If you’ve been doing your clinical Pilates or strength training program for a few weeks and suddenly feel worse after pushing a bit harder, don’t panic. Early improvements are neurological, your nerves are working more efficiently, but real muscle growth hasn’t started yet.

Between weeks 7–14, your muscles begin to grow in size and strength (hypertrophy), building resilience and helping prevent future injuries. Muscle growth will continue over the following months, but at a slower pace, so patience is key. ⏳

Did you know we post a new article every week packed with insights like this to help you stay on track with your movement and recovery? Head to our website and tap on 'articles' for more!

Still resting and hoping your injury will magically improve? 🛑 It might be time to rethink your approach.

Most injuries should show progress by 7 weeks, if yours isn’t, guided exercise and a structured plan could be the missing piece.

Don’t wait it out. Book your FREE Full Body Assessment at MD Health and get back on the right track.

That’s like starting a journey without a map. You might move, but you won’t know if you’re heading in the right direction.

At MD Health, we don’t guess.
We start with two essentials:
✅ A clear diagnosis
✅ A personalised defined plan for moving forward

Why? Because without them:

❌There’s no clear goal or strategy to get there

Even if the first diagnosis turns out to be wrong, it’s a starting point, something to reassess and refine.

❌Without one? You’re flying blind.

So if your current treatment doesn’t begin with a solid diagnosis and plan, you’re not getting the care you deserve.

Most injuries should improve with the right plan, but if you're not seeing results, or worse, you’re unsure what the plan even is, a second opinion can make all the difference.

This month, we’re encouraging patients to advocate for themselves and ask the important question:
👉Is this the best path to recovery for me?

Swipe through to learn the 3 most common reasons people seek a second opinion and why it might be the smartest step you take.

✅ Clear answers
✅ A real plan
✅ Feeling heard

Are you doing the right kind of exercise to protect your bones?

It’s a common concern, especially for post-menopausal women, and the answer isn’t as simple as “just lift weights.

💪 The LIFTMOR trial was a breakthrough study that showed high-intensity resistance and impact training can actually increase bone density, even in people with osteoporosis.

🏋️‍♀️ The ONERO program was designed from that research. At MD Health, we take it a step further, adapting it to suit your body, your goals, and your pace.

Learn how we go beyond the ONERO program to help you build stronger bones, safely and effectively, tap the link in the comments to read the full article and book your free Full Body Assessment!

What weakens it?
➡️ Childbirth
➡️ Age-related muscle loss
➡️ Inactivity
➡️ Chronic coughing or constipation
➡️ Heavy lifting over time

The good news? Just like any other muscle group, your pelvic floor can be strengthened with regular, focused exercise.

Start with simple activations (no equipment needed), then build up with glute bridges, squats, and bird dog exercises to support your function long term.

Ever wondered how clinics can use research, not just for theory, but to actively improve patient care and clinician development?

In this episode, Josh Blencowe shares a step-by‑step framework: from reading evidence and mapping it to workflows, to implementing changes that lead to better patient outcomes (think less pain, more function) and clinician satisfaction.

Whether you're a clinician, clinic owner, or Pilates client curious about how evidence-backed care translates into everyday practice, this episode is for you!

It’s not just about enjoying your morning coffee or a blooming garden, your nose is directly connected to memory, emotions, and even your immune system.

Research now shows that smell training, a simple daily habit, could help support brain health and reduce the risk of cognitive decline as we age.

Are you breathing the right way during exercise?
If you’ve ever felt back pain, breathlessness, or shaky core control in Pilates, your breathing technique might be the missing link.

In clinical Pilates, how and when you breathe can make a huge difference in:
✔️ Reducing low back pain
✔️ Improving spinal stability
✔️ Helping with conditions like asthma or reflux
✔️ Supporting chronic pain recovery

Are you aware of how your breath could be affecting your movement?

Try these tips in your next session with us, and see how it changes the way your body feels.

Why does this feel harder than last week? 😅
If you’ve ever asked yourself that mid-Pilates session… you’re not alone.

But here’s the good news: it’s not because you’re going backwards, it’s because you’re progressing. 💪

As your body gets stronger and more stable, your program adjusts to keep you improving (not plateauing). That extra burn? That’s your progress showing.

At MD Health, we personalise every clinical Pilates program so it grows with you, not against you.

Are you over 50 and ready to feel stronger, more mobile and more in control of your body?

If you don't challenge your body, whether in clinical Pilates, walking, or strength training, it adapts…and then your progress stops.

✅ That’s why we carefully increase the intensity and resistance of your personalised program over time, a training concept called progressive overload.

It’s not to make things harder for the sake of effort, it’s what helps build real strength, mobility, and resilience.

So next time your session feels tougher, know it’s actually working in your favour.
