Confidence in prescription starts with the right training 👩‍⚕️💡

Yesterday on the Gold Coast, therapists joined us for our Intermediate MAT Evaluation Workshop - the perfect blend of theory, real-life case studies and hands-on learning.

Led by Sunrise Medical Clinical Director, Amy Bjornson, in partnership with our experienced AT Consultants, the session was all about turning assessment findings into confident, clinically-sound equipment decisions that truly improve client outcomes.

Supporting better outcomes starts with better knowledge 💡

On Friday, Power Mobility was proud to participate in an education session with the Spinal Cord Injury Liaison Service (SCILS) at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, bringing together OTs, physios and nurses from Queensland Health.

The focus? Building confidence in the management and rehabilitation of people with new spinal cord injuries — where the right equipment plays a critical role.

Power Mobility’s Assistive Technology Consultants, Jack and Scott Dawson shared practical insights into wheelchair and shower commode prescription, highlighting key risk factors clinicians need to consider.

Our 31 March Prescriber Event, How to Translate MAT Assessment Findings into a Product Trial: Building Confidence through Practice – Case by Case, presented by legendary Sunrise Medical Clinical Director, Amy Bjornson, brought therapists together for a practical deep dive into turning assessment insights into confident clinical decisions.

Recently, Power Mobility was pleased to donate a Pride Litestream Power Wheelchair to a university program supporting residents of a disability centre in Thailand.

In January, a group of students & academics in the Physiotherapy & Exercise Science program at CQ University travelled to Thailand for 4 weeks. They worked closely with local disability centres to provide allied health services to individuals and develop group programs for the facilities. The program leaders requested equipment donations such as assistive technology, wheelchair parts and maintenance equipment, with the goal of making a real difference in the lives of people living with disabilities in these centres.

Lecturer in Physiotherapy, Johanna Scully said, “I would like to extend our sincere thanks for your generous donation that supported our students during their recent placement in Thailand. Your contribution has had a meaningful impact on the learning experience of our students, and the quality of care they were able to provide.”

“We are truly grateful for your support in enriching the professional development of our future health practitioners, while also contributing to improved health outcomes abroad,” Ms Scully added.

At Power Mobility, we really appreciate the opportunity to be involved in such a worthy cause. Thank you to all involved! 🙏🏻
