We’re looking forward to working with Josh Chiswell from quantumrehab_au who will be taking over from Andrew Lopez in Qld as Quantum’s Clinical Educator. Josh has a wealth of experience as an OT, and is keen to start working with our team to provide PD for therapists. We have a number of sessions planned with Josh later this year - including on the Gold Coast and in Rocky - can’t wait!

As a prescribing therapist, it’s really important to try out the chairs you are prescribing for your clients. Cuteness alert! Our Territory Manager, Paul was asked to do a wheelchair trial in Rocky this week, and the client was a very dedicated wildlife rescuer. This was a first for Paul, as he has never conducted a trial while holding a baby 🦘In his own words - “This job made my week. The client has a disability but puts animals first, getting up every 4 hours to look after these orphans. What a legend!” Swipe for more cuteness!

Power Mobility was excited to be invited to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital Education Day on Saturday, 24 May, which was hosted by Sunshine Coast Independent Living Service (SCILS).

We provided a range of power wheelchairs & seating equipment, allowing attending therapists to differentiate between types of wheelchairs and their limitations.

The session also aimed to identify uses for different types of cushions or backrests (pressure care vs postural support), as well as what to consider when scripting a manual or powered wheelchair.

At the end of the session, therapists were able to try the power wheelchairs for themselves at a nearby park.
