This week for Harmony Day we asked our families to write down “hello” and “goodbye” in their home languages. We have now displayed this next to our Centre Philosophy in our foyer to emphasize that everyone belongs here at Goodstart Nundah.

We also have a Harmony Day Cook Book on its way. Created with recipes sent in by our families. Watch this space.

Today our 2024 Kindergarten children had a catch up at the local park after completing half a term of prep already. It was great to see all the children playing as if no time had passed at all.

🌀 Important Notice: Centre Closures Due to Cyclone Alfred 🌀

Following the Federal Government’s declaration of a CCS emergency period, Goodstart is closing centres in the likely impact zone of TC Alfred.

The centres will close tonight and remain closed over Thursday and Friday to give our centre teams time to prepare ahead of the cyclone crossing the coast and to ensure they are safely at home when the worst of the weather hits. Families have been advised of the closures, and we will update on centre reopenings as soon as possible.

Please note that not all Goodstart centres are closed - only the ones listed below are affected. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you that fees will not be charged for the days the centres are closed.

We are continuously monitoring the situation and will provide updates on reopening as soon as possible.

Yesterday afternoon, we spent some time prepping our yard for the cyclone.🌪️ We moved everything into the shed, securing all the outdoor resources,loose items ,equipment, and anything that could be affected by the storm.

It’s always better to be safe than sorry! We've got everything in place and are ready for whatever comes. Keeping our loved ones and neighbors in our thoughts as we all prepare for the storm. Let’s stay safe, help each other out, and make sure we're ready to weather this together! 💪🌧️

🌪 Over the past couple of days, our educators have been using these meaningful resources to help support our children, and it’s been incredibly helpful in guiding them through the conversation about being cyclone-ready.

Meet Birdie 🐦 and Mr. Frog 🐸 – two characters who are helping our little ones understand what’s happening and how they can stay safe when a natural disaster strikes. Cyclones can be scary for all ages, but young children often need extra reassurance.
