Nothing, really... apart from losing engagement on social media, which in my books is a win 🥳

I didn't get fat from eating out more and relaxing around my usual diet.

I didn't lose my gains from walking more than usual and training less.

I didn't undo all my progress by relaxing more. I stayed active and enjoyed things I usual don't get to do.

Heaps of sunshine and vitamin Sea, a bunch of cool wildlife and spending quality time with great company helped me switch my brain off for a little bit 🫶

😏

Believe it or not, you are in control of your daily decision-making.

You choose what your lifestyle looks like and the consequences of it.

A lot of people look at me and think (sometimes even say it out loud) "you're so athletic, you must have good genes!"

The only athletic gene I have is converting copious amount of food into adipose tissue, if I'm not mindful.

I can tell you that the way I look today has very little to do with genes.

When I started making conscious decisions in regards to my way of eating and the way I finally utilised my body, that was the moment I took responsibility for myself and gained some ground toward the desired outcome of a healthier lifestyle and muscular/sporty physique.

It's your choice to stay home when you "don't feel like going" to the gym. Or you can go and do it anyway.

You can choose to spend a few hours on your weekend to plan and prepare a bunch of meals, or you can come home exhausted after work and just get some random take-out and blow out again.

Don't pretend you're special in this regard. Sure, we all are dealt different hands regarding circumstances and time available in a week. I am not talking about perfection, I'm talking about consistency. Consistently repeating the little things that help us move the goal post, whether you feel like it or not, is what brings the results!

This week was a busy one! And I once again discovered waking up once at 4:30 am is rough, but 5 days in a row, it becomes a routine. Consistency makes a massive difference!

I had to be flexible with my own training and adjust around a few random appointments. So I planned them ahead to not give myself the excuse that "I don't have time to train".

And OMG drink some water after eating sushi! Cotton mouth is a thing and I felt like I was chasing water all afternoon 😅

Mondays are tough, but you can make it worse by convincing yourself that "it's tough" and "you just can't"...

The language we use on ourselves matters so much more than you might think. You might just jokingly saying "I suck at XYZ" but repeat it often enough and you start to believe it.

I have observed negative self-talk so often, I don't actually think I remember anyone talking positively about themselves.

Your training sucks, your body doesn't look the way you want it to yet, you've fallen off the meal-prep wagon, you've feel weak because you couldn't lift a certain weight you've lifted before... you beating yourself up over this won't improve you.

Cut yourself some slack and find a solution out of the current situation. Forgive yourself and work on implementing the necessary steps to avoid situations like these mentioned above from happening too frequently.

One reason as to why I strut around in gym gear 99% of my week, is that I simply refuse to feel uncomfortable in "Normal People"-clothes.

I am truely disappointed that we live in 2023, about to head dive into 2024, and considering all the "body positivity movements" out there, I still struggle a lot finding women's clothes that fit a more athletic built body.

I simply have three choices:

1) pay a crap load of $$ for specialty brands

2) look like a comedian, trying on women's fits, because my shoulders, lats, glutes and quads don't fit the "norm"

3) stop training the way I love to train, and stop shaping my body into the body I love and feel comfortable in, give up my independency and sacrifice my confidence and mental health

We always have a choice, I am a firm believer of that. And in this case I choose gym tights and a graphic tee 🫡

Commonly, the box squat is used when you want to implement adequate depth at he bottom of your squat.

DEPTH is NOT debatable. Either you make it to parallel (or below parallel) or you don't. A 1/4-ROM squat is not an adequate squat, in most cases.

The box gives your brain and body a target and you can focus your energy on performing the technique correctly, rather than guessing if you've hit depth.

Reach out if you're not quite sure on your squat technique, I am here to help!

This thing... drenched in people's crotch sweat and yet used to "protect" the spine.

Why do you think it's mostly men who use these?

Where ever you look, online and offline, it's all about showing more skin, prioritising aesthetics over physical and mental health, and being more and more controversial to gather people's eyes and attention just long enough to fetch a quick like.

Coaches and PTs like myself, who don't show case their clients in tiny tops and scrunch b***y shorts, or showing off my their own bodies with minimal clothing, have a harder time securing an audience.

I personally don't care what people want to wear or how much or little they want to reveal of themselves online; you do you!

Trying to reach people online without showing skin is tough.
One might just say "suck it up, buttercup" that's how the "health"-industry works nowadays.

No-one actually cares about sustainable health advice and finding the solution that works for the individual. People want quick, shiny, tits&ass, new and exciting. Quick-fixes, for something that took years to establish. Good riddance.
