Trauma is any unresolved stress you’ve experienced. Trauma is anything you suffered alone and learned no one was coming to help you.

Trauma can happen in the womb or in early babyhood, when you are pre-verbal, so it lives wordlessly within you.

Trauma can happen in big events like natural disasters and in frequent micro-aggressions within families, relationships, work places and human made systems of oppression.

Trauma can create a ripple effect of suffering through your lifespan, and guess what, so does healing 👏🏼

Fear taught us things staying comfortable never would.

Here are our top lessons on fear:

Fear and excitement share the same chemical biology. The magic is in building tolerance of the sensation and stopping your mind from creating a fear based identity.

Avoidance feeds fear, action starves it.

The things that scare you and the things that help you grow are the often the same things.

Your biggest fears are your brain mentally rehearsing a future that rarely happens.

Your nervous system confuses familiar with safe.
That’s why you stay in things that hurt and accept the pain you’ve known before.

You’re not broken for feeling fear. It’s a survival mechanism. Identifying as your fear is where you stay stuck.

Most fear is memory, not reality. Humans are only born with two fears, that is of falling and of loud noises. Every other fear is learnt and can be unlearned.

The edge of fear is usually the doorway, not the danger. Therapy walks next to you as you feel into fear, but you’ll abandon the journey if you never let yourself peep over the edge.

Fear is a prediction, not a prophecy. It’s self protective but that doesn’t mean it’s build on truth. Yeah, it is an overwhelming sensation that feels personal and permanent… but fear evolves into courage through evidence.

Not thinking. Not intellectualising. Actual lived evidence of you doing things differently.

You can do it.

Every time you do the thing while afraid,
you’re teaching your system: I have more courage than fear.

Save this for the next time fear gets loud.
