This past weekend, we were proud to attend the Pain Update by HPMI, joining pain specialists and other healthcare professionals to explore the latest approaches and innovations in pain management.

Alongside Hunter Pain Specialists, we had the opportunity to connect with attendees, hear from expert speakers, and promote our services.

A/Prof Marc Russo and Dr Aidan McParland were speakers at the event, presenting “Chronic Pain Management in General Practice: Minimising Opioid Harm and Optimizing Care”.

Today is Gout Awareness Day.

Gout is a common inflammatory arthritis that can cause joint pain, swelling and tenderness. It can affect joints such as the big toe, ankles, knees, wrists, and fingers.

Today marks the anniversary of the first randomised clinical trial conducted on May 20, 1747, by James Lind. Clinical Trials Day highlights the progress we've made since then.

This year's theme, "Research Rising", celebrates all aspects of clinical research: the clinical research professionals, the scientific breakthroughs, and most importantly, the patients whose vital participation make future medical breakthroughs and improved care possible.

Today is world IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) Day. Around 10 million people worldwide live with IBD, which includes conditions like Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

This year's theme, "IBD Has No Borders: Access to IBD Care", focuses on the barriers a person can face accessing specialist help, treatment, and a diagnosis, depending on where they live.

By raising awareness, we aim to improve life for people living with IBD, ensuring care is accessible, timely, and equitable for everyone.

Today is Rare Disease Day - a day to shine a light on the 300 million people worldwide living with a rare disease.

5% of the world population is affected by a rare disease and with over 6,000 known rare diseases, many patients face challenges in diagnosis, treatment, and support. That’s why raising awareness and driving research is so important.

We are proud to conduct research on rare diseases like Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Through research, we aim to bring new hope and opportunities to those affected by rare diseases.
