Motivate Kids

Motivate Kids Motivate Kids provides tailored OT for your child to be supported to unlock their greatest potential. We walk you through this process step-by-step.

At Motivate Kids we know the thing you want most right now is a clear plan of where your child is at, the journey to come and an idea of the destination. You too will learn along the way so that you can more confidently understand your child, their therapy plan and implement it too. You will gain clarity and have that feeling of “I’ve got this.”

You need someone who keeps everyone on the same

page so that home and school, or kindy / child care, pull together in a way to create a therapeutic life for your child. Nothing will be missed along the way. So imagine that feeling when you see your child succeed at things they’ve never done before. To see them happy and engaged and to see that their progress overflows out of therapy and into their daily lives. This is all held together by someone who specialises in “sensory integration” Occupational Therapy. Someone who is as passionate about your child as you are. Someone who will challenge them “just enough” to make progress that is worth celebrating. This someone has to be fun, uplifting and bursting with knowledge. It is important for you to feel heard, appreciated and empowered as you undertake this journey and to be surrounded by a community of like-minded people who have your back. These people have not walked in your shoes but they sure have had their own journey. We can learn from each other and realise, we are not alone. Its time to stop surviving and start thriving. Having stability in life to release the pressure is essential. At Motivate Kids we know exactly where you are at right now and how to help you and your child move forward. After all, “it’s about supporting children to live their best lives” – Motivate Kids

April is World Autism Understanding Month.

Every day, we have the privilege of working alongside beautiful autistic children who experience the world in deeply individual, thoughtful, and often intense ways.

And every day, we’re reminded of this truth:

The challenge is not who they are.
It’s how often the world expects them to be someone else.

Our goal is to work alongside families, schools, and early learning centres to create environments where children can participate, thrive and to simply be themselves.

If you’d like to chat about how we can support your child, we’d love to hear from you send us a message or get in touch through our website.

Occupational Therapy is so much more than just movement or exercise.

It’s about helping children take part in everyday life like playing, learning, getting dressed, managing emotions, and feeling comfortable in their own body.

It looks like structured activities, but often it looks like play, connection, and small changes that make daily life easier for your child.

Because OT is not about fixing a skill it’s about supporting participation, confidence, and independence.
When a child feels supported in the right way, everything else becomes possible.

Want to know if OT is right for your child and you’d like to chat, just send us a message or visit our website.

Here’s the shift that changes everything:

Instead of “What’s wrong with this child?”
Ask “What is this child needing right now?”

Because when we meet kids where they are…
we stop trying to control them
and start actually helping them.

And that’s where growth begins.

The little things matter, like sharing hot cross buns together!

Our character is woven through our culture. Every smile, every shared moment, every thoughtful gesture shapes who we are as a team.

This Easter, we celebrated not just the season, but the ‘we’ culture we’ve built: inclusive, supportive, and full of small moments that make a big difference.

Because it’s these everyday practices, noticing, showing up, caring, that make our workplace feel like more than just an office.

With the clocks going back this Sunday, for most adults it’s an extra coffee kind of morning.

For some children though especially those with sensory differences like anxiety, ADHD or autism it can feel like everything is just… off.

And it’s not talked about enough.

Sleep challenges affect up to 93% of autistic children and around 82% of children with ADHD. So when we shift the clock by one hour, we’re asking a system that’s already working differently to adjust quickly.

Consistency and predictability are what the nervous system leans on when everything else feels slightly out of rhythm.

You might also like to try some simple, regulating activities at home to help support your child through the transition.

If things feel a bit harder next week, there’s a reason for it, and you’re not imagining it.

Sport doesn’t need to feel overwhelming.

For many children, it’s not about ability, it’s about the environment.

When sport is fast, loud, and unpredictable, it can be hard for children with sensory differences, ADHD, autism, or coordination challenges to feel confident enough to join in.

But with the right support, things can look very different.

When we slow things down, reduce overwhelm, and meet children where they’re at we create space for confidence, participation, and success.

Because every child deserves the chance to feel capable in movement.

Active Sports and movement sessions are now available as a part of the April School Holiday Workshops and Term Group sessions.

If you’re unsure which one is the right fit for your child, send us a message and we can guide you in the right direction.

Easter can be magical… but it can also a little overwhelming for some kids.

New places, big gatherings, different foods, lots of excitement (and sugar)… it’s a lot for little nervous systems.

If your child needs a break, says no to the Easter Bunny, melts down, or clings a little tighter today, they’re not being difficult.

They’re just taking it all in the best way they know how.

Moments like this are a reminder that behaviour is communication. And underneath it is often a need for safety, connection, or a little more time to adjust.

When we slow down, stay close, and meet them where they are, we help their nervous system feel safe again, and that’s where regulation begins.

We know that every child experiences the world in their own unique way.

A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) gives a clear picture of your child’s strengths, challenges, and support needs at home, at school, and in the community.

Conducted by our experienced Occupational Therapists, an FCA helps identify what your child needs to participate more independently and confidently in daily life. It can also support NDIS funding, school planning, and long-term goal setting.

If you’d like to book an FCA or just find out more, we’d love to hear from you.

We always love welcoming the wonderful Kate Mudge to Motivate Kids.

This session with our team focused on how, as OTs, we can best support schools and the incredible teachers who show up every day with so much care and dedication for their students.

We believe the most meaningful progress happens when therapy extends beyond the therapy room. By sharing practical, evidence-informed strategies with educators, we help children carry their skills into the environments where they learn, connect, and grow.

Because when families, therapists, and teachers work together, children have the best opportunity to feel confident, capable, and ready to learn.
