NRG-Health is proud to be supporting Mitch McKenny in his epic journey from Broken Hill to Newcastle to raise money and awareness for Angelman Syndrome and Huxley's Heroes💙

Angelman syndrome is caused by a genetic mutation in the UBE3A gene located on chromosome 15. This genetic change disrupts normal brain development and function, leading to various symptoms such as developmental delays, intellectual disability, speech impairment, walking difficulties, ataxia and seizures. While there is no cure for Angelman syndrome, treatment focuses on managing symptoms and improving quality of life.

Unfortunately, in December 2024, a local Broken Hill family received shattering news that their baby boy, Huxley Maguire, had been diagnosed with Angelman syndrome. In a time of need, a hero stepped in to offer his support to Huxley and his family🌟

Mitch McKenny will begin an epic journey next Friday the 22nd of August (Huxley's first birthday) to Move for a Cure. Mitch will be running 1100km from Broken Hill to Newcastle in 29 days to raise vital funds and awareness for Angelman Syndrome🏃‍♂️💪

Please show your support by making a donation using the link below or coming along to Mitch's Run Out Day to send him off with the love and strength that only this town can give!
