‼️Your local pharmacy needs your support‼️
The Labor Government is planning to implement a 60 day dispensing strategy come 1st July 2023.
This will mean that instead of receiving 30 days supply of your medicines, a 60 day supply will be provided.
While it may seem like a good idea on paper, the reality is that it could do more harm than good.
‼️Australia has already been suffering from massive medications shortages for the last 12 months. Therefore, by supplying 60 days of medications at a time this will only amplify the shortages and potentially leave some patients empty handed and untreated!
‼️Some of our Chronically unwell patients can receive over 8 medications per month and undergo frequent medication changes. Therefore, providing them with 2 months of medications at a time will only cause confusion and lead to mis-dosing.
‼️We pride ourselves with providing free services to the community such as free Blood pressure checks, and medication packing ETC. However, with reduced pharmacy incentives of over 30%, free services will become obsolete and pharmacy job losses will occur. This financial burden may also lead to pharmacy closures especially small pharmacies.
