Australia’s healthcare system is at a turning point.

Chronic disease is rising.
People are living longer.
But care is still mostly reactive.
That needs to change.

💡 Right now, only ~3% of health spending goes to prevention
→ Target: 5% by 2030

The shift is clear:
From treating illness → to preventing it

💬 “We’re seeing more patients wanting to take control of their health earlier - before conditions become complex or chronic. Preventative, personalised care is no longer a niche; it’s an essential pillar of modern medicine.”
- Roni Beauchamp - CEO, Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM)

At Health Hunter, we’re helping people access the right care - earlier.

🌿 Meet Jean Jordan - Naturopath 🌿

Featured Practitioner Jean Jordan is a naturopath with 20+ years of experience, specialising in chronic pain and persistent musculoskeletal symptoms. During her naturopathic training in Perth, she completed a clinical research project on musculoskeletal chronic pain, exploring how past life experiences and unresolved stress can contribute to ongoing pain - and how acknowledging these factors and using targeted self-help techniques can support meaningful relief.

Jean also deepened her understanding of chronic pain treatment in Australia and New Zealand through postgraduate study in Pain Management at Otago University. She has trained with Howard Schubiner (Freedom From Chronic Pain) and describes her work as neuroplastic treatment to help change neural networks involved in long-term pain.

Many people consider seeing a naturopath when they’re in the in-between stage - not acutely unwell, but not feeling their best either.

・Digestive issues that keep returning.
・Energy that never quite rebounds.
・Hormones that feel off.
・Stress that shows up physically.

Naturopaths take a holistic, lifestyle-focused approach and aim to understand patterns beneath symptoms - not just manage them.

🌿 Prevention is proactive, not reactive.
Health Hunter connects you with qualified naturopaths across Australia.
Explore your options. Learn. Discover. Prevent.

💛 New on Health Hunter: Evidence-Based Endometriosis Treatments & Mythbusting

Endometriosis affects millions of women in Australia and globally, yet confusion, misinformation and inconsistent care pathways can leave patients feeling frustrated, overlooked, or unsure about their options. In some cases, people may still encounter outdated advice or limited discussions around the full range of care available.

Our latest article by Dr Kafayat Lee explores what the current evidence suggests about endometriosis treatment options, from imaging and medical management through to when surgery may be appropriate. It also unpacks some of the common myths that patients can still hear in clinical settings, and where research may not always support those claims.
We also discuss why no single pathway suits everyone, and how shared decision-making, guided by individual symptoms, personal goals and the best available evidence - can help support more informed, confident choices.

If you’ve ever wondered:
✔ What treatments may be supported by current research
✔ When surgery can be helpful - and when it may not be
✔ How to navigate your options with greater clarity
…this guide is for you.

What if your symptoms weren’t random… but signals?

Integrative medicine looks beyond surface-level treatment and asks a deeper question:
Why is this happening?

Instead of only managing symptoms, it combines conventional medicine with evidence-based natural therapies, lifestyle medicine, and mind-body care to treat the whole person.

It doesn’t replace standard care.
It works alongside it - with prevention, root-cause investigation, and long-term healing in mind.

If you’ve ever felt “fine on paper” but not in your body, this approach may resonate.
