It’s that feeling of always being on the go, a constant pressure to move faster and do more. Maybe you find yourself gobbling down meals, scrubbing your skin and hair in the shower with a frantic energy, or walking at a rushed pace even when you have nowhere to be.

Here are some key signs:
📌Overthinking everything – Even small decisions or interactions can become a mental marathon, with a constant fear of making the "wrong" choice.

📌Difficulty relaxing – You may feel like you always need to be productive, even when you're supposed to be resting. Sitting still often feels uncomfortable.

📌Perfectionism – You set unrealistically high standards for yourself, and even when you meet them, you still feel like it's not enough.

📌Procrastination mixed with over-preparation – You may put off tasks due to fear of failure, but when you do start, you over-prepare and obsess over every detail.

📌Constant need for reassurance – You may frequently seek validation from others, worrying about how you're perceived or if you're doing things right.

Many of us experience it but may not fully understand emotional eating or why we do it.

This is when we turn to food not just for hunger, but as a way to cope with feelings like stress, sadness, boredom, loneliness and anxiety... Eating emotions

👉 So why do we emotionally eat?

1. Stress Relief: Life can be overwhelming, and food can feel like a comforting escape.

2. Boredom:Sometimes we eat out of sheer habit or to fill a void, unfulfilled. We look for a distraction.

3. Loneliness: Eating can become a way to fill the emptiness or a sense of companionship
4. Traditions:Many of us associate certain foods with memories or experiences, leading to eating for comfort or feeling safe.
If you find yourself eating when you're not truly hungry, it may be helpful to explore, identify and shift through the emotional loop running that habit.

So you've recognised you're a people-pleaser. You’ve told yourself, "Okay, from now on, I'm going to say no more often!"... but then the moment comes, and the "yes" just slips out automatically. You walk away thinking..why!! 😫

That feeling of saying "yes" when you desperately wanted to say "no"... that's a classic sign of people-pleasing. It often shows up as:
🙋‍♀️ Over apologising for things that aren't your fault.
😩 Feeling guilty when you set a boundary.
🤯 Constantly worrying about what others think of you.
🗓️ Having a schedule packed with commitments to others, with no time for yourself.

Here’s a deeper reason why that happens. Saying "yes" isn't always just about wanting to help or be liked. It's often a learned safety response.
We say "yes" to calm others down and manage their potential reactions, which in turn allows our own nervous system to feel safe and accepted.
This is why it's so hard to change with willpower alone. People-pleasing isn't just a conscious choice; it's a neurological habit. Think of it like a well-worn path in a forest. 🌲 Your brain has used this "say yes to keep the peace" path so many times that it's become the default route.
This is where my work is different. Using modern hypnotherapy combined with new neuro-techniques, we don't just talk about taking a new path. We actually help your brain build one. 🧠 We work with your nervous system to gently update those automatic responses, making it feel safer and more natural to pause, consider what you need, and choose your response with confidence rather than the quick "yes" reaction.

It builds the evidence of past experiences into a belief about yourself; not smart enough, not interesting enough, not good enough. Even when our conscious mind doesn’t remember, your nervous system remembers, it is the recordkeeper of every single experience you have ever had.

😬These beliefs may manifest into symptoms; anxiety, depression, perfectionism, self sabotage, procrastination, substance use, bursts of rage, physical tension in the body, illness, stomach problems and many more. They can hold you back from making decisions, moving forward in life and progress feels like it an uphill battle, even when you know the outcome could bring long-term positive change for you and those around you.

📖Your body holds stories your mind can't always express. By blending hypnotherapy with somatic practices, we use the familiar knowing of that feeling in your body to trace its origins through your nervous system and bringing that information through to your conscious problem solving mind allowing you to release the emotional trigger that had been associated with it.
