🏉 10 YEARS IN THE MAKING 🏉
A few weeks ago her Dad + I sat with her and through tears of stubbornness she told us she didn’t want to sign an offer presented from another club + sternly reminded us what her goal has always been 😂 With any success, there comes sacrifice, and she was prepared to sacrifice the opportunity + keep working towards her goal 🔥 The cut off day to sign a 2 year contract came + went. Even though we felt she was passing up a great experience + opportunity, we stood by her + her decision 🩷 The very next day I received the phone call she’d been hoping for. An offer to sign with the Broncos 🥹 So proud of her for being firm with us + staying true to herself.
Tonight at her first Broncos training session she was told “best you get comfortable with being uncomfortable real quick”. The standards here are high, the message of expectation is clear. This is just the beginning of some very hard work for her but she’s here for it 💪🏼
To be offered a contract at 14 years old is amazing. BUT this offer came from being recognised for her dedication + work ethic.
6 x gym sessions a week with me or at school
6 x training sessions or games a week
1 x rest day. Walk in nature.
3 x week recovery, sauna/ice baths
8.30pm daily, phone away + 9-10 hours sleep (non-negotiable)
3 litres water daily
No processed food. High protein, moderate good fats, minimal carbs. A weekly treat of chocolate, frozen yoghurt or açai.
Supps: True whey protein, magnesium, collagen, creatine + greens.
All of this comes from her own self discipline. If she doesn’t get up for gym, I go without her. If she forgets to take her supps, I don’t nag, I encourage her to be accountable to herself.
If you have a goal on your heart CHASE IT RELENTLESSLY! No excuses!
Would I choose to be on the other side of the country away from my other kids, husband, business + clients? No. Am I choosing to commit to her + her goals? Absolutely 🩷
Parents with children aspiring towards a goal…How can you better support them? How can you be the best role model? What habits or behaviours are you displaying that don’t support their journey?
Team work makes the dream work + with hard work, any dream is possible 🔥 Do you have a dream? If so, are you prepared to do the work required to reach it?
