We recently had the opportunity to take part in Cultural Awareness Training in Broome with Mabu Buru, led by Johani.

It was a valuable session focused on cultural safety, understanding local protocols, and strengthening how we support both our staff and clients in a culturally respectful way.

A big thank you to Johani for sharing knowledge and guiding these important conversations. And shout out to Rossi for linking KCG in with Johani.

🏡 First SDA Home in the Kimberley WA

We’re proud to partner with Homelander SDA Solutions Australia, who have delivered the first Specialist Disability Accommodation home in the Kimberley.

Kimberley Care Group will provide Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports within this Fully Accessible SDA home in Broome, helping participants live safely and independently in their community.

✨ Two participant rooms are currently available.

Due to strong demand for SDA housing in the region, we expect these places to fill quickly.

We encourage support coordinators, families and participants to submit referrals as soon as possible.

💪 Manual Handling Training – Investing in Safety & Skills

The team recently completed Manual Handling training, strengthening our knowledge, confidence and hands-on skills when supporting participants.

From safe transfers and slide sheets to best-practice positioning techniques, the session was practical, engaging and incredibly valuable.

It’s always powerful to step into the learning space and refine the fundamentals that keep both our participants and our staff safe.
