Wei, Kara, Dave & Margaux completed a two-day Dementia Training Course with Dementia Australia, using Virtual Reality (VR) to explore innovative ways to de-escalate challenging situations with empathy and confidence.

Thanks to for their modern training techniques and all-encompassing training course, our staff gained a unique insight into the world of someone living with dementia.

This perspective helps caregivers recognise triggers, respond calmly, and use effective strategies to reduce stress and agitation.

During the two-day course, our team:

✅ Learned evidence-based de-escalation techniques
✅ Practiced real-life scenarios in a safe, immersive VR environment
✅ Developed stronger communication skills tailored to each individual’s needs
✅ Built confidence in providing compassionate, person-centred care

This experience strengthens our commitment to delivering care guided by understanding, patience, and respect, ensuring every interaction makes a positive difference.
