Although looks may be deceiving, these waters can potentially be dangerous to swim in due to the Chironex box jelly that inhabits this area during the months of November through to May.

Visitors are advised to stay away to avoid dangerous or deadly encounters. ๐Ÿ™

Broome is perfect to visit from July to September as this is the optimal Cable Beach swimming season with waters cleared from all the jellyfish that appear during Broomeโ€™s wet season.

It is recommended to swim only at patrolled beaches, within the designated swimming area clearly marked with yellow and red flags.

Cable Beach has a professional lifeguard service that runs daily from April to October between 9.00 am and 4.30pm.

Wirlburu begins every year around September.

Wirlburu marks the commencement of the westerly wind and the changeover from the cool to the hot season. It becomes hotter during the day and night, as cloud cover engulfs the Nileribanjen sky. Dust storms may still occur. As seaweed washes up on the sand, a mist trickles in from across the water.

Along with a variety of delicious shellfish, such as mud cockles, mangrove crabs, and pearl oysters, reef fish such as sea perch, rock cod, and several species of snapper and bream reach maturity. Locals have access to the reefs that are home to these animals during low spring tides. Acacia pods are beginning to dry out, while the wild pear is starting to bloom.

Towards the end of Wirlburu, the days become very hot and humid, making the arrival of Larja.

Today is R U OK? Day. Who will you be checking in with?

Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:
1. Ask R U OK?
2. Listen
3. Encourage action
4. Check-in

Here are some helpful conversation check-ins that you should ensure you follow up on within a few day's time if the person you asked was not feeling ok:
- How have you been since we last spoke?
- I've been thinking of you and wanted to know how you've been going since we last chatted.
- Would it be useful if we tried to find some other options to help you get through this?

Put in the extra effort when you can, not only today but every day, because a meaningful conversation may entirely change someone's day and inspire them to express their true feelings and finally instigate the much-needed pivotal point to help.

Additionally, keep in mind to take care of yourself. In order to help others, it's critical that you feel good yourself.
