Time for slow, time to embrace the forest, time to just be.

A wonderful start to my day today, just me, the forest, the rain and the breeze. My morning meditation. By the end, nature had come to me and I was surrounded by chickens!

I just want to stay here all day. 💜

Easter this year was the start of my slow down. The start of the year has been a roll on from last year and a very full schedule. However the Easter weekend for me contained plenty of space. Space for me to choose how I wanted to fill my weekend. As I reflect back, I feel it even more just how special this time was for me.
It was wonderful to share restful practices with wonderful people including visitors to Broome and the Blue Body Buddha Sanctuary. Spending time in nature is always important and a highlight for me. Getting out in the boat with my partner was very special. There was no goal or desire to max out on fish, but to just be out on the water. I didn't even touch a rod!
There was space for creativity, meditation and my sound bowls. There was time spent with friends, as well as daytime naps. Of course I saw the full moon rise and it was special seeing a large cruise ship depart beneath it.
It was all done slowly, no rush, just being with what was in the moment and not thinking about what was next.

FAMILY TIME
My family and I are split all over the country and have not all been in the same place at the same time for over 11 years. We did not catch up in person over Easter. However I head off tonight to travel over East and will visit far North Queensland. There will be some time just for my partner and I and then there will be family time.

Restorative Yoga and meditation will still be shared at the Blue Body Buddha Sanctuary on Fridays at 5:30pm with other teachers covering the class. I look forward to sharing the practice again with you all when I return.

An important component of a retreat is food. Food to sustain, nourish and support the journey but also as a journey in itself to explore and enjoy. As Tasmania has so much amazing produce available I wanted to showcase the food that is on offer. Tassie you didn't disappoint. From the beautiful fish straight off the trawlers, the fruit and vegetables in season, the seafood, the honey, the locally made jams, pickles, relishes, chocolate and cakes, as well as the cheeses and small goods. It was all wonderful and very well received by all.

I want to acknowledge and send my gratitude and appreciation to everyone who helped make my 2026 Tasmanian Retreat such a wonderful experience. I couldn't have done this all on my own and I know that the input from everyone of these people made the overall experience even more special.
In no particular order but firstly I would like to mention Sally Collins for not just the wonderful meals that she prepared for us, but her insights, generosity with her time, her photographic tips, her massage skills and her overall beautiful energy that she brought to the Retreat. Our daily practice and meals were enjoyed at Sally's property the Bohemian Barn Stanley. I could not have hoped for a more perfect venue.
My good friend Jen Kranendonk who kindly designed and made our retreat shirts.
Alex from Mellow Dharma Yoga for sharing a beautiful yoga class and sound baths during retreat. Some participants were lucky enough to experience Alex's exceptional Yoga massage treatment. Hela from Hela Donela Art, for the amazing art workshop.
Cassie from Paraka Yoga and Breathwork for sharing your amazing yoga practice with the group. We are all looking forward to seeing you in WA next year.
Sarah who invited us all into her home, showed us her wonderful farm, allowed us to feed the cows, made a beautiful lunch for us and then guided us in making our own smudge sticks.
Petra from Connect for Healing for sharing your practice of Chakra Dance with us.

Thank you to all of you, I am so so grateful.

Meet my dad! This is my dad Michael. He is not on social media but he was my wonderful helper and co driver for my Tasmanian Retreat.
My mum also helped in the background and I couldn't have done it with them.
Thanks dad and mum!

After the official end of Retreat, a group of us travelled to Cradle Mountain, for a few days of what I call a 'choose your own adventure retreat'. Everyone was encouraged to explore and hike and do activities that resonated with them. Some were group adventures, some were solo, but I am confident everyone chose for themselves what they felt they wanted to do. We came together sometimes for lunch and other times for dinner. We shared stories of our adventures and a few laughs. Another special experience with a special group of people.

'The end is the beginning the beginning is also the end', Rebecca Campbell.

My Tasmanian Retreat for 2026 officially came to an end. There were lots of emotions but the theme for the day was the above quote. It was now time for the official group to go their separate ways. On to new adventures exploring Tassie, visiting family or friends, making their way back to WA or joining the group who headed to Cradle Mountain for a few more days exploring and immersing in nature.
After morning practice and breakfast, it was time to pack and leave the beautiful town of Stanley. However I know a piece of this beautiful town has gone home with everyone who was part of the retreat.

And then suddenly it was the last official full day of our retreat.
After our morning practice and breakfast, we headed out to Dip Falls and the Big Tree. It was another wonderful nature immersion in a very special location. There was more trees to hug and it was time to say good bye to the forests of the Circular Head area. On the return we stopped at Blue Hills Honey to explore a variety of Tasmanian honey and associated products.
We completed our day with our final practice reflecting on the week and then enjoyed a final group dinner prepared by Sally Collins of the Bohemian Barn Stanley.
Then we were all ready for the earliest night of retreat, but time to pack and prepare for other adventures.

Even on retreat, rest is necessary. Throughout the retreat there was free time for people to choose what they needed, be it rest, internal reflection or further exploration either of the self or the location. Today was an intentionally restful day. A late night the night before watch the eclipse was good timing for a rest day.
One of the activities of the day was a beach meditation and then enjoying strolling on Godfrey's beach to collect items to create our beach mandala.
Lots of free time today, however the day started with a lovely gentle practice with Cassie from and then just before dinner Alex from shared a sound bath.
Bliss.

All the activities of retreat to date led to this day. A day of exploring, reconnecting and playing in our creativity. Letting go of negative beliefs or the stories we tell ourselves about our abilities.
We were hosted by TJ and Brooke from Lanigan’s and . Hela guided us through a gentle meditation and provided some mindfulness tools which were applied as we painted the beautiful scene in front of us from the winery. Hela guided us to paint with eyes closed, to turn canvas upside down and other techniques to encourage us to let go of striving for perfection and to embrace and let be what emerges.
Then of course there is food. Delicious platters of Tasmanian products, from the Lanigan’s team.
We then once again enjoyed a delicious meal at the Bohemian Barn and then we watched the fill moon rise and the lunar eclipse happen. We had some clouds to contend with, however the eclipse was still a magic experience to finish the day.
