📢 Free Diphtheria Vaccines Now Available in Broome 📢
In response to the current outbreak, state-funded diphtheria vaccines (DTpa/dTpa) are now available to more people in Western Australia.
If you haven’t had a diphtheria vaccine in the past 5 years, you can now get it for free if you are:
- A resident (Aboriginal or non-Aboriginal) in the Kimberley, Pilbara, or Goldfields regions.
- A worker with regular face-to-face contact with Aboriginal communities in these regions (including healthcare and frontline workers).
Vaccines remain free statewide as part of National Immunisation Program for:
- Infants & Children: At 6 weeks, 4, 6, and 18 months, and 4 years.
- Adolescents: In Year 7 (up to age 20).
- Pregnant Women: Ideally between 20–32 weeks of each pregnancy.
