🌡 THERMOMETERS🌡

A high temperature is one of the major signs of infection, especially COVID-19. A high temperature is 37.8 degrees celsius or more. Temperature monitoring is one of the ways we can identify a potential covid infection (or any illness!) early.

RAT TESTS AT KPS!

RATS are a way to quickly self-test for COVID.

They come in nasal and oral tests - check which ones you have and make sure you know how to use them!

IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS YOU NEED TO GET A PCR TEST AT THE HOSPITAL- RATS are not as accurate.

IF YOU ARE A CONTACT OF SOMEONE WHO HAS TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID YOU NEED TO GET A PCR TEST AT THE HOSPITAL, BRAMS or KIMBERLEY MEDICAL.

Use a RAT test if:
1. You don’t have symptoms but are concerned
2. You haven’t been to an exposure site
3. Your workplace requests you use one

If your RAT gives a positive result you need to report it online or call 13 26843.

Concession card patients are able to access RATS for free. You can present your concession card at the pharmacy and get a box of 5 RATS with a maximum access of 10 RATS in 3 months. If you don’t have your concession card with you, don’t worry - we can help you access your number.

PLACE YOUR MEDICATION ORDER BY PHONE OR EMAIL!

Kimberley Pharmacy Services is preparing for Covid-19 when it arrives in our community.

To reduce the number of people in the pharmacy and waiting times, we ask that people who are only coming in to drop off and pick up prescriptions phone or email their orders to us ahead of time if possible.

Our staff will let you know what time to collect your order from the pharmacy or you can request to pick up at a particular time.

To make the process simpler you are welcome to leave your repeat prescription at the pharmacy if you do not already do so, for when you need them next.

New prescriptions from your doctor can be emailed to us directly from the doctors surgery at your request or you can take a photo of your script and email it to us - just remember to bring the paper copy to the pharmacy when collect your medicines.

If you are unable to phone or email ahead, don’t worry! You can still come to the pharmacy for your medicine, however if it is a busy time our pharmacy staff may ask you to wait outside.

Covid-19 Vaccination Clinic at KPS! 💉

KPS are currently providing the following vaccines against COVID-19:
▫️Astrazeneca 1st and 2nd dose for 60 years and above.
▫️Moderna 1st and 2nd dose for 12 years
and above.
▫️Moderna boosters for 18 years and above.
▫️Novavax will be available for 1st and 2nd doses only from February 21st onwards.

Your appointment will go for approximately 30minutes which includes a pre-screening form, the vaccination and a 15 minute wait in the pharmacy afterwards. You will be required to provide your Medicare number, if you could please have the card on hand.

🧼HAND HYGIENE DOs AND DONTs🧼

DO:
👍 Lather soap into hands for at least 20 seconds before rinsing under water.
👍 Ensure soap covers not only the front and backs of your hands but also the wrists, between fingers and under finger nails.
👍 Routinely apply hand sanitiser throughout the day if hands are not visibly soiled.

DONT:
👎 Rinse hands with water while lathering on soap. Soap should be applied thoroughly first.
👎 Forgetting to dry hands after washing with water. Bacteria likes to grow on wet surfaces.
👎 Skip hand washing if you don't have soap or water. Use hand sanitiser instead!
