My journey has been varied, working in five key areas: performance, natural health, aged care, training and coachin
g. As a young woman I was fulfilling my childhood dream, working in the theatre in England. Whilst in the UK I became interested in natural medicine and returned to Australia and studied massage, aromatherapy and flower essences. A few years later I opened my private practice and later began working as an Aromatherapy Consultant to improve quality of life of residents in Aged Care facilities. In 1998 I was given the opportunity to share my passion for aromatherapy as a lecturer for the Australian College of Natural Medicine where I was awarded an Academic Blue Award for Excellence. During this time I mentored interstate lecturers to deliver a training program I developed. Later I was an Industry Advisor for the Remedial Therapies Department of North Melbourne Institute of TAFE. In recent years I’ve worked as an online facilitator for the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences, coaching and mentoring students to achieve their learning goals. In this role I also facilitated webinars and worked as a staff mentor to my fellow online facilitators. It was a natural progression to complete qualifications in Life Coaching and combine my wellness experience with my coaching skills. Essence of Life Coaching was established in 2005 where I specialise in stress management, wellness coaching and business coaching for wellness practitioners. I have also facilitated stress management and wellness workshops to support people to improve their health and wellbeing. See testimonials of client experience below. In a leadership role for my professional aromatherapy association (IAAMA) I used my coaching skills to create business opportunities for members. I arranged regional training events and helped of organise the 2012 IAAMA National Conference. In 2014 I facilitated a business coaching session at the IAAMA AGM which resulted in a national marketing campaign: Aromatherapy Awareness Week. Throughout my career I have coached and mentored people from a variety of industries, including event management, training and development, professional writers, allied health care professionals and wellness practitioners. It is a joy to assist clients to achieve their personal and professional goals and improve their health and wellbeing. I specialise in helping people make simple changes to improve their quality of life. My message is simple. To achieve your personal best you need to rest. I am on a mission. I am bringing rest back in style.
